Actually any civilian plane (like the Cessna 172 you mentioned) carrying the President of The United States would be called Executive One as a civilian private or commercial plane is not operated by the Air Force. While this would almost certainly never happen, there is a protocol in place for such an event and the private airplane carrying the President would have the ATC call sign Executive One. This protocol was put in place decades ago should a commercial airliner ever be required to be chartered or commandeered in the event of an emergency or if a government plane is not available or not able to fly. The 89th Airlift Wing of the Air Force based at Joint Base Andrews that conducts Presidential air travel has so much redundancy built in to each special air mission (presidential trip) that it's impossible to imagine a situation where a commercial or civilian aircraft would be required to transport the Commander in Chief.

Air Force One (and Marine One) don't belong to President, they belong to the American people... I used to work for Boeing in Everett where 747's are assembled. These aircraft are enormous. It takes the world's largest plant by volume and thousands of skilled workers, engineers, and other support staff to build it. I have been through 47's top to bottom, from start of build to final, been in the avionics bay where electronic boxes and hundreds of miles of wiring come together. I can't confirm or deny what either Presidential Mover has for defense and offense capabilities. The 'Replacements' will be even better. New Interior color schemes and furniture are more modern. They can refuel in the air, and stay aloft for days if required. They would run low on food, before running out of fuel. Hope they are well stocked in M & M's.

(08:35) Armor plated? No, it isn´t. Withstand a nuclear explosion on the ground? No, it can´t. Just where do you get your information? Perhaps you are perhaps misinterpreting the matter that the VC-25 is intentionally made from an early model “steam gauge“ (analog instrument) 747, not with a digital network for aerodynamic control, but push-pullrod physical actuation controls. This is to mitigate the electronic damage inherent in an EMP attack, which can be initiated by a nuclear device, explaining the second assertion.

Missed a few things. The only time both 747's fly is when POTUS fly's to a foreign nation. Plus, ahead of the president, the Air Force has it's advance party, with Secret Service agents, several cargo planes transports all the presidential vehicles and helicopters that will be used. And the Doomsday plane, there are multiple ones, and one is always in the air...there is even a documentary on it. Here on youtube. The newest ones, coming soon, are most likely will be the last 747 presidential planes built. Boeing has had a severe reduction in orders for the 747, and future production of the plane could be ending sometime soon. Plus, originally, the Airforce actually wanted 3 planes built, but Trump canceled one. The Air Force wanted to be able to rotate the planes in and out of maintenance, and still always have 2 available for flight.

The aircraft is not armor plated to withstand nuclear blasts. It is electronically hardened to not get affected by the electromagnetic pulse. So much false info in this video. Also any vehicle or aircraft the president is on, has the nuclear football. The football, as it is called, can initiate a nuclear launch. The aircraft just has better communication ability.

30 years is pretty normal service life there are 747-100s still flying today over 60 years later as cargo converted jets as most of them used to be passenger jets so the 747 that air force one is is only middle aged at most. Some jumbos might reach 100 years of service life or more depending on operational conditions and carriers Wich wouldn’t surprise me as there was still a 707 in passenger operations up untill 2019 with Saha air in the Middle East she was approaching over 70+ old I believe the main reason for her retirement at that time in specific was the Covid outbreak as the 50,s era airliner just couldn’t be reconfigured for safe flights with Covid restrictions

Just a quick clarification: An airplane carrying the president will only take the call sign "Air Force One" only and if the aircraft in question is operated by the US Air Force. If the aircraft belongs to the Navy or Marines, the aircraft will take on the callsign "Navy One" or "Marine One" respectively. The US Army not owning or operating any aircrafts, the term Army is not used. If the aircraft is private or commercial, it takes on the callsign "Executive One", only used once by Nixon on a commercial flight in the 1970's

Yeh, protect the person at all costs who , in all likelihood, got the American people on American soil now , involved in the war that the air force one is designed to deal with no matter the horrific happenings below on the ground where Americans are dying no doubt or soon to if in the case of atomic war. Hell no. Build 1000s of them to rescue the people who didn't have to actually fight another man's war for oil or power or land or whatever nonsense it will be then and Also the soldiers who are injured and can't fight any longer . I want to serve a president, a commander in chief who participates on the battlefield as well, g. Washington and Dwight Eisenhower. Or grant, etc..but those types of leaders are no longer around . Instead we have spoiled rich kids who grow up to go to Harvard or Yale, rtc...and avoid any draft or enlistment . Actually I want to echo the sentiment of my aunt. She says she can't wait for the day when a war is declared and then no one shows up to fight. That would be fantastic

The highest floor is the cockpit, crew lounge & military services behind it in the famous "Hump." "oval" office is on the main floor. The fleet of 707s & 747s are the most recognizable & respected aircraft in the world - trump had no business childishly changing the traditional paint scheme just because he could and for no other reason, and I hope Biden vetoes it before they're finished. You posted this in 2022 that means that you have to know that Bush Sr. took possession 1990, Clinton 1993, Bush 2001, Obama 2009, Trump 2017 & Biden 2021 have flown in it totaling six. Unlike your asinine & fictitious thumbnail, the presidential 747 must be unarmed by treaty so that it can't be fired upon by a foreign enemy as an armed assault aircraft. It can't deploy anything but defensive measures.
