This song was the song my grandpa chose to play at his funeral. My mom was with him as he was dying and played the song "walking on sunshine" off her phone and asked if he wanted that song played at his funeral. He said it was too happy. Then my mom played this song and he said "That's the one." It was played at his funeral and whenever I hear it I will think of him. It's been 8 years since we lost him. He was so important to me and I miss him everyday!!! Thank you Kurt for this beautiful cover and allowing me to remember my grandpa for a few minutes ❤

We used to sing this song with our choir, though it was a few years ago. God I miss choir, even though like no one but me and my sister ever showed up, and most of them weren't that good at singing. But we made people happy, and a few times even more than that. One of my best memories will forever be when we were singing with our choir in church a few years ago, and it was just me, my sister and another girl who's a pretty good singer (we were supposed to be more people there but they couldn't come for various reasons), and we sang some emotional song and I just looked at the audience and saw people crying. It was so amazing, knowing we were able to affect people like that with our singing. And one of them who came up to us afterwards to thank us and told us it was the first time he had gone to church in years but that he would come more often now. And I have seen him a few times after that. That's the reason I sang in the church choir, all the way until it couldn't keep going anymore because of the lack of people in it and the choir stopped existing after last summer, even though we had our big "best of (the choir's name)" concert just before summer, our only real concert. I guess the problem was that so few people showed up for that too, it was just me, my sister and two other people, one who barely sung at all. My sister had been in the choir for nine years, and me for six years (she's younger than me and so were the rest of the people in the choir so I didn't want to sing with them before that ha ha). But my point is, I didn't sing in that choir for six years because I'm very religious, I don't even believe in God. In the beginning it was just because I love singing, but then in the end it wasn't. Sure I do love singing, but it took too much time for it to have been worth it. No, I did it just because it made people happy. I wanted to make them happy, I wanted to touch them through the music. People always seemed to truly appreciate when we sang and I loved that, I wanted to give them that. Sure we didn't always sound good, but it was fun and it made other people happy. And now I can't help but wonder if they miss us

Kurt's piano playing is sheer perfection. I would have to put in the "other worldly" category. And I fell in love with Jai's voice from the moment he walked on stage shaking so hard he could barley stand and sang Anthem with the strength of an entire choir. This cover is pure magic. I don’t know how these two came together but this is truly beautiful. I love Jai’s voice. It’s sharp and crystal clear to the point it can sometimes be a little harsh. Kurt is the only contemporary pianist that can transfer all of his human emotions through his fingers into the keyboard. His piano playing is magical and always takes my breath away. Put with Jai’s clear perfect voice they do make a great team. I hope they do more together.

Omg that really made me cry...i think mostly because this song reminds me of so many things. For one it reminds me of my parents... because they always did everything for me to raise me up and that i would be the strong young woman that I'm now. And than it also reminds me of my boyfriend. He is in the germany navy and had to go through a lot of things... we are apart for a lot of the time but he always is the person that reminds me that you can achive everything if you want to and even if there are hard times you can get through them. This song reminds me of these very special people in my life and they really made me the person i am now. A young strong independet woman. Thanks for covering this beautiful song!

this song means a lot to me because our choir teacher basically took the melody and made her own words in our language. the lyrics was basically about our choir group and life or whatever. i should still have the lyrics somewhere but it always made me cry when we used to sing it. i can still feel the feelings i had when we were on a stage preparing to sing, looking around at friends trying to hold back tears cause it was always emotional.
