I love Chat GPT and use it often. I even named mine Chet, when I sign in it even says "Hi Chet here, how can I help you." I'm easily amused. Routing with Chat GPT I just started to do and it is so easy and it provides the types of things I like. It is wonderful. The Harley-Davidson app I have not tried. Yes, please, tell us all about motocamping and what you do. I have been motocamping for many years but I still learn from the younger riders that are a little more up to date than I am. Enjoy your winter time route planning, that's what I do in the winter too.

Thanks, Jess! For my Garmin, Rever, and even Google Maps, I shape my ride by looking at major intersections to break up what could be a monotonous straight line. I'll even shape the route by finding places to stop to fuel up or eat. Afterwards, I may modify the route if the points I picked weren't the best after the ride.

That's a great strategy!

Awesome and informative as always! My wife and I are fairly new riders and I've often wondered if there was a better way to plan trips or rides and this sounds like way! I planned a trip to Michigan's upper peninsula last year and it was quite involved researching and finding everything. Well this year we're doing the west half as we did the east half last year. Definitely stealing this method and it sounds like you'll exploring michigan this year. So we'll be sure to keep an eye on your channel and see whenever you'll be here and hopefully we'll run into you somewhere! There are a few major events here and everything seems to be by a great lake here 😁

By golly, this is the first thing I've seen done with AI that actually makes sense to me. AI is generally so inaccurate that it borders on useless, but planning trips isn't about accuracy, it's about an adventure. So what if it sends you on a wild goose chase, that's the idea! Actually, this is awesome.

@BBuxRides23 сағат бұрын
One thing to think about with the Harley planner…. The route you plan in the app will not be the route you travel on your bike…. The bike will hit your waypoints, but then dump you back into the highway… UNLESS you add additional waypoints to keep you on the back roads. Also, you’ll want to zoom in close on your waypoints, and make sure they are dead center on the road, or the bike won’t catch while you ride and you’ll have to get hood at “skipping” waypoints.
@HerTwoWheels22 сағат бұрын
Exactly. This is just the “starting point” of building your route. I highly recommend doing actual research and calling locations you wish to visit. Regardless, some things will still go wrong 😅
@BBuxRides22 сағат бұрын
@ LOL. For sure. I’ve used the “turn by turn” out of chat GPT to build out a route in the HD app, then double checked the side roads on Google maps to make sure they weren’t dirt roads. Found some pretty cool routes, it it certainly does need the extra research to tie it all together. If for nothing else, it can handle figuring out where you’ll lay your head each day, with can sometimes be the hardest part…
@1baddoggy11010 сағат бұрын
One thing to watch with Chat GPT is it makes mistakes. I've tried using it to plan a couple of routes and both times it was off on the daily mileage, sometimes by hundreds of miles.
@HerTwoWheels10 сағат бұрын
That’s why I plug the suggestions directly into a route planner. We are 100% responsible for our final outcome 😂

Is that free to use, can you use it for a non-Harley bike, and can you use it on your phone after creating it? I ask as i just use google maps but i really have to be smarter than the programmers to see the exact route I'd like to take and not what their idiot program suggests. This is for my first bike road trip this year to Bikefest in the Lake of the Ozarks (MO).
