I feel like our mind and memories are the only reason we are able to survive some tough environments. For example you can be a prisoner of war with nothing, but constant abuse, work, and malnutrition, but you can survive it so long as you are able to think of memories that give you strength or conjure new memories of hope of the possibillites of making it out of your circumstances currently. it’s weird because life/time is a constant force/motion that we try to reason with and come to terms with, although it is always one step ahead of us.

I remember, I took nap once last year and I had the most disorienting, existential filled dream. I had this whole family and I was close to them and we had built a great bond and when I woke up I felt bad because I wasn’t with them. @ the dream was telling me to get in touch with reality and find people that I can connect with on a meaningful level. Because, up to that point, I had taken everything for granted. For years I was being deluded and creating a persona that was not really me. But it was to protect myself from my environment at the time. Still it consumed me even afterwards. So I had this dream when I was in this rehab program. I hated that place. I don’t want to get into it. But I remember one afternoon when my roommates were out I took a big nap and I had this dream. It honestly made me cry. Mind you I was also on a host of these antipsychotic/antidepressants that they gave out. Long story short, I think it was telling me to get in touch with my true emotions and not mask them with bravado or fake persona and be upfront and honest with people even if it will hurt them. Also start becoming responsible so that others don’t have control over you.
