I'm insanely tight at this point between my big toe and second toe, when I press it, it makes the whole foot tender and affects muscles like inside my right foot. Are there any tips for relieving this pressure? It feels like every muscle is tight within my foot, from the inside more than the outside

Thanks for the message! There are a lot of reasons why you might be experiencing this tension in this area of the foot. To help, consider getting checked out by a qualified Pedorthist or Chiropodist and consider some orthotics if necessary. In the meantime, acupuncture and massage will help to reduce the tension and may provide some relief! Hope this helps!

Liver 3 on my right foot is very tender to the touch. Mean anything?
@acupuncturemasterclass
@acupuncturemasterclass Жыл бұрын
Some TCM practitioners use the sensitivity of acupuncture points as a way to refine their diagnosis. The more tender the point, the more the organ may be in disharmony. However, I don’t let this trump all the other valuable info gathered during an intake (pulse, tongue, subjective info etc). It’s interesting but I can make most points feel sensitive with the right pressure. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

@@acupuncturemasterclassMine is very puffy on my right foot. Is this from lymphatic?

This point is very tender for me on the right foot, but no sensation at all on the left foot at the location of this point. What could this indicate, in you view? PS. I'll add that when pressing this point on the right foot, i feel the pain/energy (it's a "good" sort of pain) radiating to a location on the sole of the right foot (or more accueately, on the "inside" of the sole of the foot), where i think they say (in reflexology) is the location of the liver. Does this often happen when pressing thia point?

Thanks for the question, Amir! Pain created by pressing on acupuncture points (sometimes called "referral" pain) is an interesting thing to experience! There are many factors which can influence how an acupuncture point feels when pressing it. Let's take your example of Liver 3 - this is a tender spot on most people but may be more tender on one side rather than the other for a number of reasons. Reasons such as muscle strain in the interosseous muscle due to poor footwear or a perhaps from a previous injury - both of these issues could make one side more tender than the other. Some TCM practitioners will use acupuncture point tenderness as a way to help diagnose a client so perhaps you have some Liver Qi stagnation! However, for me, I find it is usually more of a muscle or nerve sensitivity in the area of the point which best explains one-sided tenderness. No matter the cause, adding a needle in the area should "move" the stagnation and/or reduce the hypersensitivity to the nerve - reducing the tenderness. I hope this was helpful!

what is the distance exactly? in cun more or less... anyway thanks for explanation!
@acupuncturemasterclass
@acupuncturemasterclass Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question, Betta! There is no specific cun measurement when looking for Liv-3, it's much more about palpation. Slowly walk your way proximally from Liv-2 and try to notice the deep depression that opens up for Liv-3. Do this on as many feet as you can to get a sense of where this depression is! More or less, about 1-1.5 cun from Liv-2 (depending on the size of the foot, of course). I hope this helps!
