I read Nigel Benn's autobiography some years ago. He served 5 years in the army before becoming a professional boxer. One of the punishments he had to go through was with another soldier who he had been with breaking the rules . They had walk through a gauntlet of their platoon either side and they were allowed to hit him and his friend as hard as they wanted to by the officer. Nigel Benn said that he warned them prior to this what would happen to anyone who did hit him so his poor mate took all the whacks

Seems like a good man that just needs a little guidance and someone to help him move in the right direction. As far as self control i thought he did great. When certain people grow up something as simple as defending yourself becomes second nature. That fight or flight response is always fight and never flight. I can understand that completely. I've had an issue with my anger for my whole life. I'm 34 and still learning to control it. I like to think I get a little better everyday. Hopefully he's doing the same and continues to get better everyday for the rest of his life.
