I was actually a contestant on this show and there were a number of scenes that didn't make the final edit. I will explain one of them to you now. One of the exercises we endured was the light-shelled grenade transportation test. It was difficult; we were told to hold a small silver device and carry the oval light shelled-grenade, to the finish line, without dropping the device and cracking open the grenade. "Ant? This is much like an egg and spoon race" I said in my burliest voice, to mask the deep insecurities I now felt towards Ant's biceps. At that moment, a mighty crash of spoons fell to the floor - including Olly Ollerton's - which was accompanied by a small piece of haberdashery, that parachuted out his pocket with the spoon. There was only one item of cutlery left in hand - Middleton's - though clutched tightly in a fit of rage, it now resembled a stainless steel butterfly. "EGG...'N' F*CKING SPOON!" Screamed Billy Billingham to number 27, ironically named Willy Willingham and to 43, Phil Fillingham - who was covered head to foot in albumen albumen. There was a stiff awkwardness in the air, some say we were walking on eggshells. However, Middleton was furious he began ranting, mentioning all his favourite wars including the Honeycomb maze and Skipping Stones - albeit a light skirmish. I brushed some yolk out my hair, Number 31 tore off his armband, Phil Fillingham dropped to the press up position and Olly Ollerton's haberdashery was now covered in egg. I was told to leave, immediately. I fumbled my belongings into a satchel and felt something peculiar touch my fingertips. I grasped the item and brought it to my vision. It was a tablespoon, twisted and bent into the shape of a butterfly - a feeling of comfort overcome me as I felt the stainless steel was still warm from Ant's touch. The wings of the metal Red Admiral seemed to beat harmoniously with my increased heart rate, due to the thought of being approached by an irate and sexually opressed Tony Bellew. "Love others and love thy self" reverberated a mysterious whisper. Middleton, I thought.

To be fair, this is the most difficult aspect of special operations training. Resistance to torture. They break your body in hopes that your mind will follow. They can make it so that there is no right or wrong answer, only actions to be observed. They can do anything from sensory deprivation, cold water exposure, a mild form of water boarding - I don't think they can do full water boarding now. My Canadian friend is in CSOC and he wasn't allowed to tell me anything about his training. But he did tell me that as punishment for a failure - he was forced to sit in a cage that was too small to sit down in and not tall enough to stand up in. A tactic they have been using for thousands of years as torture. With the sun glaring down on him with a glass of water on a chair just outside of his reach.
@thebostonterrierdude15853 жыл бұрын
The key to torture is not to not tell them anything but to tell lies to lure them away and tell them false information. Say, your dads name is Johnny Spellment or something and you were prohibited to tell them his name, you’d tell him something else.

In reality they would have abused the women in front the men to make them crack. Punching etc. Preying on ingrained decency. If this failed the youngest male would be next for various reasons. If this failed the oldest male in front of the others assuming he would be in command. At this point a woman would probably crack. Just a guess.

the thing i love about the special forces. is they are ladies and gentlemen. they are first at the bar and the first to shake a persons hand and they will die to protect a single person.

one observation i would make is and im no expert , however these trainees are aware that the captives are not real meaning they are fully aware they are not in any real danger so in their minds they know there safe, i think needs to be so realistic to get a realistic response to that situation

I genuinely don't understand these challenges. They KNOW it isn't real so to give up information only makes you a moron, like what are they gonna do? They can't actually hurt you.

To truly become a member of any of the elite special forces - it's all in the mind. You need to think outside the box, have excellent math skills, analytical skills, judgement, leadership and be part of the hive mind. He made a valid point. Your captors who captured you and your 4 crew are going to be extremely pissed off if you start off with " I don't know their names" b.s. Proof of Life is the first step in a possible negotiation. He could have got his whole unite killed.
