Setting of boundaries is a good start just as you said, late night conversations should reduce. It might not totally stop following the words of Ayomide "he's just your bf not husband." Then we should always remember that besties are besties because they've been there for eachother through thick and thin, so i don't expect them to just put a stop to it just like that.

First of all, i feel you can create a mutual connection between them (your partner and bestie). Make your bestie your partner's friend. Might be hard though but you can still try and not make it seems like a secret relationship with your bestie. The probability of it working is slim also.

If you have best friend of a opposite sex before you get committed, you and your best friend should give yourself brain and know that there is now someone else in the picture so of course you start to set boundaries immediately. No more unnecessary attachment, but of course you can still remain friends but your partner has to be comfortable with whatever friendship you are now in so he/she doesn't feel like they have to compete

If you don't want to respond to the feelings of the best friend because you in love with your current relationship, then make them know, and set the obstacle, gbam.

Ofcourse there are some situations that with strict adherence to boundary rules and sincerity, they are good to go, but not everyone can do it, if he can do it, can his bestie do it..if not say bye bye to each other and focus on your woman, this goes for both sex btw

Simple but not simple too o😭😂. There's an issue of what if the relationship doesn't work out, we may not be able to go back to being friends as we've "crossed the line", do you get? So, some actually prefer to retain the friendship so as not to lose on both ends if the relationship doesn't work out.
