Many of the long-term benefits that come with regular Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy have to do with this powerful tool.
It has an accelerated effect on our cell signaling, especially with regards to sirtuin activation, cell cycle activation, and DNA repair, epigenetic repair, and tissue regeneration.
Of course we get the short-term benefits of megadosing oxygen like increased ATP production, increased mitochondrial performance, increased immune system activation, etc.
But the research indicates this is very stimulating from a healing and regenerative standpoint and is largely responsible for stimulating sirtuins, HIF-1-alpha, VEGF, BDNF, and stem cells.
So what is this mystery tool?

Im 32 years old, am on a ventilator through a trach, have a slew of neurological conditions, have a feeding tube, neurogenic bladder, neuromuscular weakness, and many other conditions. My Chiropractor has a Mild Hyperbaric Chamber, specifically an OxyAir 32 model, and I have a VOCSN ventilator which is compatible with mild hyperbaric chamber therapy. Well I have a lot of conditions and I wanted to see if I could benefit from a few sessions in the Hyperbaric chamber, but due to my medical conditions, and the seizures I had a few months ago, my chiropractor refuses to put me in the Hyperbaric Chamber. I KID YOU NOT! He won't put me in there. He's denied me access. And I think it's a load of garbage, because I have a great mental capacity, I'm not going to try to get out of the chamber when it's at full pressure. I know the pressure cannot be reduced from 40 KPA all of the sudden, and I would just lie in there, quietly for the hour and 15 minutes patients are in there, but the guy refuses to put me in. I told them I would be safe in there, but he said "NO!" So that's not happenin. Which I think it not right! You know, even my Primary Care Physician thinks and told the Chiropractor that I could benefit. And the Chiropractor told me to consult with him, but when I did, the chiropractor decided to deny me access. So I'm switching Chiropractors!

would repeated diving - descending and ascending - in a 4m deep pool be able to create a similar effect relative hypoxia? I had read that descending 4m increases oxigen 40% and ascending from 4m decreases oxigen 40%. would be any similar benefit?

What is the protocol for a 2 hour session? I use a 2.0ATA chamber with 20 LPM oxygen concentrators at 100% and I do 20/5 hyperoxic/hypoxic split for 5 rounds.

What about altitude? What happens when you do HBOT sessions at altitudes higher than sea level? (Liveable altitudes, that is: say, Denver.)

Hi doctor, if you are in a 1.3 chamber I assume the air brakes would still be advantageous? If so, what does the on off protocol looks like? I mean time mask on/time mask off?
@HBOTUSA

@@samuils it could vary but 20 min on 5 min off if a standard way to begin that process

My PD brother has done over 108 HBOT at 100% O2 and up to 2.4 ata's with most at / below 2.0 . His PD was diagnosed in 1995 so without HBOT and other mitigating non pill / off label experiments, Id say he'd be gone by now. The relative "induced" hypoxia intrigues me. I believe Dr Efrati in Tele Aviv has this protocol but what are his best parameters? Yours? Would breathing into a bag (raising CO2) inside the chamber be a low risk approach? He (with 55 others) did a clinic trial at MGH Boston in 2012 gene transfer into the substantia nigra with good results one year later but wearing off in later years. Is the substantial nigra necrotic or perhaps just metabolically challenged? (Hence, O2 reviable) Thank you!

If you are in the chamber and on oxygen how long are you are on and how long off the mask?
@HBOTUSA

Those protocols will vary. The most generic of which would Be 20 min O2, 5 min air

My chamber is like 1.5 or so. It’s from summit to sea. How does this differ from a 2.0 tank regarding benefits?

Soft chambers on the US are capped at 1.3 ata. There is still lots of value but there are virtually no comparison studies. The study we are doing currently is the first comparison I know of and I am sure there will be some that follow! Overall there is a place for all chambers even though their results and benefits will vary based on amounts of pressure and percentages of oxygen.

I have a soft chamber the solace 210. As of now i dont have a concentrator hooked up to unit. The rep said there is still benfits to just the pressurized cabin. is this true? i do have a concentrator ordered just curious if im wasting my time until then.

Yes there are still benefits from breathing regular air in a soft chamber! But using a concentrator enhances the benefits.

They told me at clinic with lyme i need to go to hbot at least 30/40 times. Would this be safe? 5 times a day, one hour, 30 or 40 days, 1.3 ATA?

Yes that's a safe amount. There are daily limits, but that would put you way below the limits. See our video regarding CNS oxygen toxicity kzbin.info/www/bejne/p6u4qmltZ65nnLc & pulmonary oxygen toxicity kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYe3gpuHmJ2aZ80 for more info on that.
