As someone who grew up just down the street from Dave and went to elementary, middle and high school with him, I didn't know that he had this experience. It reminds me of what my GrandPa went through with the Great Depression. One thing I wish Dave had said is that, like most things, the more willing you are to learn about it the better off you will be. I understand that he is referring to the emotional aspect of money, but the more you understand how debt and capital operate and have built our world, the more you can use this to your advantage, and to the advantage of those around you by helping to build the world into a better place. As they say-you are the five people who you hang around the most.

Your remarks were insightful and thought provoking, Dave, particularly the subconscious influence of early life and family experiences upon our perspectives of money. Thank you for tuning in! There's always a deeper reason behind our actions and behaviors. Those are what you see on the surface - there is something under the surface causing the above the surface things to happen. A lot of those things are primarily subconscious so we're not super aware of why we do what we do until we do some digging.
