No they are not. Men and women are not equal when you look at the physical capabilities and that is fine. Men do what they do best and women do what they do best, preferebly without harming another human being. That is how our society works. The women you are reffering to are those who want a job because of their gender. Those women won't be successful as a ceo, just as much as a men won't be successful as a ceo, if he doesn't put the work in it. A man aswell as a Women will be successful, if they put the effort and the work into it, it's just much more common that men are willing to sacrifice all of their lifetime to becoming successful , whereas women tend to focus their private life more (generally speaking ofcourse there are always exceptions).

I came here years ago and admired the "call a spade a spade" way of Sarah Hanson-Young. I came back last week and happened to read the comments and was shocked to the point that I too will leave a comment now. A large number of shallow, aggressive and disgusting comments here make me think that Sarah's speech is also entirely directed towards these 'guys with a problem' who make such comments. The other thing that became a realisation was that at this time we are having a national crisis focus on 'violence against women'. That realisation is evident here in the 'attack' on what she is and what she talks about and stands for. And when she states, "you are not fit to call yourself men", this is directly appropriate to you men here who say these gutter comments. Our problem with 'violence against women' comes down to a state of mind. That is what needs to change, the process of thought into action whether it be verbal or physical.
