I remember a long, like 10 years ago, maybe a little more, I was working with some guys who also played league. Me and one guy were in high plat low diamond, the third guy was bronze. The third guy would always say "dude, my teams are always so bad, I can't get out of bronze because of my horrible team mates!" and me and the other guy would just quietly think "ah yeah, sure, it's whatever". Not long later they added the ability to watch a live game from your friends list and so we watch him play and holy crap was he good. His teams were absolute garbage, and they 100% were holding him back. Certified 1v9 situations as the jungler having to deal with 3 fed lanes and he would ALMOST beat them. He finally broke out of bronze and by the end of that month he was playing with us in diamond.

It's funny because Faker and actual pro players are some of the most egoless players you'd ever meet. I had a friend who was a pro player and watching him play/playing with him is kind of crazy. He's just quiet and focused the entire time he isn't boasting or ego checking or whatever. He's literally just focusing on the game

@teodorstefanov5103Ай бұрын
I wouldn't say they are egoless, they are professionals who know where they stand and don't need to ego check, but mostly they are adults. It doesn't compare to the random diamond 4 25yo who feels like the pinnacle of his species

I remember when I met a toxic Master player in aram who built full flat magic pen on Sona against 4 tanks. People responded back the Sona's build. She was then unironically adamant about flat pen being JUST AS effective against tanks as against other types of champions. That's when I realized even high elo is a clownfest that deserves no respect. The top of the top is so much higher than what you think is the top. Regardless of your rank, you are closer to Grandmaster than Grandmaster is to Faker.

What helps me a lot when this happens is thinking… "Jesus Christ, he is…. my rank, this is my skill level" and then I get so disgusted by the players around me I force myself to improve. This unironically pushed me from gold 4 to diamond 2 in one season a year or two back. Masters now and I still get the same feeling almost every game. The smart way of thinking is saying "how am I at their elo, they’re so bad" instead of saying "how are they at my elo, they’re so bad"

What to do? There's a warped mentality called "Practice makes perfect, if you keep on practicing you'll eventually be perfect" The cold harsh truth is practice has a limit. No matter how much you practice, there'll be a biological limit that will cap your performance and it takes ultra dedication as much as real sport such as in Ping Pong to raise it. Many people just don't realise that they ain't Faker (or those pro Starcraft macro players) and the screen flick thingy or CS2 360 quick-scope is not doable unless your brain has similar reaction speed to them. Also, it doesn't help when these same people feeds their body and brain with junks instead of balanced diet like athletes while thinking eventually their "grind" will lead them to the level of pros. (majority end up burning out instead)
@FresherLOLАй бұрын
i think dedicated practice is good but most league players just queue to play thinking they will improve by grinding games when that's not how it works anymore broken by concept had a really good video talking about this

@@FresherLOL Didn't watch it but I think I can guess the gist of it. People game to have fun. People enjoys the dopamine release when learning game mastery and achieving something with it. Good game offers a relatively wide range of learning curve where most can reach average mastery while having deeper mechanic that requires more skills to masters. Problem is when you reached your "personal best" & feels stucked. Then the negative emotion spirals begin, you start doubting yourself, stopped learning(because its harder now), blame and flames others or may even dip into scripting/cheat tools. This is the turning point where it make/breaks someone's mental. I once compared myself against aimbot in CS & boi I ended up overstraining my eyes and wrist while accomplishing NOTHING. (then burn out & feel depresses) And then when I look up the pros and all that & was like dafuq? They actually got training, exercises, proper diet, sleep and be like unlocking their body potential just like traditional athletes while...... I was chugging caffeine into my brain to "boost" & then crash later on. After all these it became clear that I was being unrealistic, overestimating myself & having wayyyy inflated ego or MC syndrome. The pros are pros for a reason & I simply didn't have the mental and dedication to walk that road. I was merely just chasing the dopamine. Now I generally have fun in any game regardless win/lose. I am fine being a mid, casual player. There is just no need to chase and climb that "learning curve" if I don't really want it.

Sry but matchmaking is a shitshow. I was emerald on 3 accounts last year and I couldn't get out of silver on a 4th account because I kept getting placed with either smurfs on new accounts or guys who were plat/emerald last season but were also stuck in silver for some reason. I'm not challenger or even diamond, but I'm also not silver, that's for sure. Elo hell exists and maybe a challenger can get out of low elo hell, but how about the rest of us. Ah, forgot to mention seeing players even in high bronze with textbook wave management, textbook back timings, perfect cs. It is insane, seeing a mid lane or adc with 10cs/min for the entire game. I also see a lot of cases where jungler comes to fix the wave for their top laner after they die and I can't get a good back. Fella knows how to make the wave slow push into him so I lose waves to back. When the fuck did junglers even care about top lane in the first place. It's insane. I hop into plat/emerald and it's the same shit. I see no difference between silver and plat lately.
@FresherLOLАй бұрын
lmao man your the exact person im talking about First off your emerald why do you need 3 other smurf accounts. Secondly the skill gap has closed to where silver players are capable of wave management and doing all the things you stated. Look at your own gameplay and learn

@@FresherLOL I have one account on EUNE with all champs, one on EUW with all champs and another on EUNE where I play just to test builds and stuff. The 4th one is of a friend's who gave up on the account. I'm not "smurfin", since if I was I would stomp every game. I'm still trying champs and builds and stuff, but out of nowhere bronze/silver players have high level fundamentals. Also, I will obviously climb to emerald, but I should STOMP silver with my eyes closed. I still stomp in low emerald on my main most of the time, it is insane the how small the skill gap is between a bronze and a plat these days. Several years ago when I was stuck in plat, I would stomp any gold in lane.
