When I first saw this piece on AE (a few weeks ago) I immediately decided that it was not for me and did not even bother looking at any details, but now that I saw Gary's video (what a brave man - to buy such a watch and even review it on his channel) I want to thank Gary for sharing his experience with us (kudos to you, Sir!). I was quite impressed by some of those (thumbs up!) details that were mentioned here. Thanks again Gary for this video and even though I liked some of the elements of the design of this watch, I would not be brave enough to wear it in public.

I really like the look of these I really like their Orange and black version they offer. IMO you never to old to do anything you want to do! I am in my early 60s and would have no problem wearing that watch. I have a few Richard Mille Homage watches I wear regularly. I pop by the Richard Mille shop near my and have tried many on but I could buy a decent condo for the cost of most of them! So I grabbed a few homage watches my GF gave me a Guess watch in yellow that resembles an RM. I recently bought a Gevril GV2 Triton and wear that a lot. I say put it on and go out, I'll bet you get a lot of comments and questions mine RM homages attract a lot of attention.

Right with you!! I'm the same age and have enjoyed watches ever since I saw my first digital watch in the 70's with red numerals only when you pushed a button! Fantastic stuff. I now have a Gerlach in this same 70's style and would encourage anyone to not give a monkey's about what anyone else thinks! Go for it. I'm tempted from this great review!

One is better off buying this than a Richard Mille. The dial is enough to make one understand what watch is being homaged. With a quartz inside, they could have done the better thing of going thinner. Good effort.

Love the RM styling and that’s the only reason for buying this. The design and shape is what it’s all about. It’s still ‘Richard’ And not ‘Reeshard’ case thickness can’t be a negative as this is the design. You either like it or you don’t. I’ve been watching these Tsar for a while. Mines coming today. Have a look at the Nubeo versions RM Homage watches. They’re nice quality. Again at a price.

The sheer size would make this look totally ridiculous on my wrist, but even if it was smaller it's not the kind of watch I'd wear personally. But I agree with your cons on it, the finishing and all the detailing and levels on the dial is very nice for this price. And a curved sapphire crystal like this is good to get as well for the price.

Its good for a teenager or wanna-be rapper, but I don't think anyone is going to mistake this for the real one (which I think is gaudi also, btw). I've never seen an RM that was thicker than 10mm. I'm not sure how much the heaviest ones weigh, but the lightest ones are under 20 grams. They make some with platinum cases, I suppose it's possible that some of them are over 140 grams. I say, wear what you want, and if people laugh, you're also allowed to have opinions about THEM. By the way, speaking of big, thick, flashy watches, are you ever going to review any G-Shocks? (Just please not Casioaks! AP doesn't need to imitate anyone and neither does Casio!)

I think Chinese homage companies sometimes make watches a lot thicker than the ones they're homaging. I bought a B&R homage by Parnis a few years ago and it was ridiculously thick.

LOL - Got mine for £89.00 - LESS THAN $110.00 - I got the quartz version yellow tipped sweep hand and black strap - very comfortable, sapphire crystal.. great value - now about the "Too Old" LOL - I'm hitting 63 and wear it - only issue I have but can live with is the crown - bit of pain... the loom on the version I have is on the hands and the little number markers (triangles) - looks cool in the dark - the black strap has NO stickiness on it - now these could all be changes they have made in the Year from this video and my comment and price wise $2 increase in a year - now that's good...

Love the comments and the review, the watch is a mirror of your personal attitudes to yourself, and the permissions you give yourself. I love mine, and would have been looking for a screw down crown. I wish you would have ordered the new gold version with the black strap. I already bought this red one when it came out. There were no reviews at the time. This watch is an absolute steal. Of course you have to like the RM style. But I can assure you for this price and quality you cannot find a better one And btw their customer service is outstanding. Better then San Martin which is also good. Anyway it's nice to see this watch getting the love it deserves. Just because you don't appreciate the style is definitely a must have for those who do. You can buy it blindly, you won't regret it! And btw even though it's a big watch for some reason it looks nice on a ladies wrist. My wife was shocked when I got mine but then she tried it on and surprise surprise it looks stunning on her. Maybe because women like to wear those fancy big bracelets so this becomes almost like an accessory then a watch. I also bought a white strap which looks cool with the red accents in this watch. I'm almost pulling the trigger on the gold version which looks amazing on their video but would love to see some review here on KZbin but I'm almost sure it's as good looking as the red one.

I would wear it and I think many people would look at it and think its pretty cool, I am 43 years old and I can still look cool. (At least I think so) I would however not wear it to the office for example, just wouldn't fit in. It will probably spark more conversation than most other watches.

I understand the design like that is a personal preference and not for everyone, but I think there is no excuse for barely visible hands. Looks even worse than my black Pagani Seamaster that has almost invisible hands unless there is very good light and you look close up from a corrent angle. We love to bash Seiko for misalignment and qc, but their divers' hands design is great, you can tell the time at first glance even without charged lume and good light.

No I wouldn’t wear it. Not my cup of tea. Though I do see the value of it just not anything I would ever consider. But I highly doubt anyone would recognize you were wearing it. I have a very extensive watch collection and only about 2 of my friends ever say anything about what watch I’m wearing. And only one of the 2 shares my passion. I got him into watches by giving him one of mine for a birthday present. I am glad I gave him that gift he truly cherishes it and has started his own collection he is up to about 10 watches. I have about 70 that run and 2 boxes of ones that need to be fixed. I use them for parts. Anything good was saved long ago. I inherited a lot of my watches from my grandfather like all my old ones are ones from him the 1952 Omega Geneva gold with 3 different color interchangeable bands is my crown jewel. It’s 100% original in awesome shape and I have all the paperwork for it. I will never sell it. It is worth a lot of money but it’s more precious than money for me. My grandfather got me hooked on watches around age 8 and I have been getting them since that age I was always working on a project we would fix watches together and that’s how I learned. I remember the digital watch craze in the 80s I remember one that played the yellow rose of Texas it was my favorite one back then. Unfortunately I no longer have that. I am wearing a Casio Royale at the moment was wearing my custom built Orient Mako 2. I upgraded the crystal, bezel, insert, and bracelet. Great video.

While the strap can be removed easily enough when the screws are out, it's a very nonstandard strap so it can't be replaced, something custom would have to be fabricated for it. It won't last forever, likely not even until the first service if you buy the automatic version. So, paying extra for the automatic for this one doesn't make any sense, and it's questionable if you should pay $150US for the quartz. It's a nice enough watch, but overpriced. (Would be better if they supplied a couple extra straps with it.)
