For anyone who is curious we entered Chaos at 3 mins 57 seconds and killed Diablo at 9 mins 19 seconds. The goal isn't to be the fastest clear in this video, but i thought idmention it since there's been some talk on other platforms about this chaos run taking 10 mins, which is the length of the full video, not the chaos run itself. This is excellent. Your Diablo kill was remarkably fast! They really do need to take your suggestion with four different summon mage options to easily select the element you'd like.

Necros have it rough to begin with when it comes to efficiency. They should absolutely implement this.

Another QoL for Necro would be summons persisting through games and/or no longer requiring corpses. It's such a pain having to resummon a massive army when doing multiplayer runs.

id only want that IF the prebuff gear snapshots and saves it between games. not sure if it does even for iron golem.

@@off-meta-michael what gear you have on when you leave is what gets buffed when you join so if you have your arm of king leoric swapped to when you leave the game, it’ll resummon them with that gear when you join back. That’s how it works for iron golem, he’s actually being resummoned when you join.

I really wish they make it possible to summon all golems at the same time like they did with druid zoo. Would be so cool to have a golem army, fully synergized.

I'm obsessed with the "Curse Shotgun" effect with holding the Infinity lol.. Your content makes me less sad about D2R being in maintenance mode while the D4 tire-fire consumes all resources.

thanks man, yea there are actually a TON of builds to play if you are okay with P1 difficulty and just having fun using skills and gear combos that no one else does. that being said, im still pulling for patches and updates. that one D2R dev whose holding the fort down will become my friend one day and you'll SEE!! ha

@@off-meta-michael Great shout out on the - rez gear. from my read mages don't benefit from it directly, but its spaghetti code and who knows what else VV did while they were under the hood. That being said, it would be a great place to manipulate mages further as things like Crescent Moon could create a midgame potential for a light-centric mage build. Though the idea of another class competing for Griffons isn't great.

Hello Mr Off-Meta. I like, alot of effort though to get the 15 lightning mages, pain in the butt without dear D2R dev making life easier. Id still want my iron golem to be made of an insight, I've grown attached to this play style, but love the concept. on to the next build!

I could be wrong, but I believe the only reason this is working is BECAUSE of the Infinity . Infinity is simply an amazing item. I believe it works for your mages, that's why they're doing fairly well.

No you are not wrong. That's exactly what im showing in the video. But stacking it with lower res is huge and makes the merc a lot better too

I'm all for these vids and off meta builds but you always lose me at pre-buff and even moreso at summoning mages to get one specific type

Yea thats fine. When i play a build that uses prebuff i always run several areas and if i have to recast anything i dont grab all the prebuff gear again in most cases. But im not sure why using one type of mage would lose you? Its the main point for this build and only videos like mine would ever generate am actual update to make it so that we could choose. I wish there was a way you could choose which magic school your skelly mages are, instead of it being random. Poison and cold have always sucked (and they shatter corpses).

I liked to use skeletal mages with bone wall/prison. Lock everything down and let them shoot em like shooting fish in a barrel. Issue I ran into is in hell my bone prisons weren't strong enough and powerful enemies would break through them. Have you tried this?

Yeah it was. DPS goes up when the enemies can't move and get hit by everything. Running same curse/aura as you are as well of course. Also the walls soak up ranged attacks. They just break when you're fighting good stuff =*(@@off-meta-michael

I had a HC seasonal baal bot summoner that never died with an a2 merc. Cleared it maybe 5-10 seconds slower than hammerdin.

@judestongue this was back in the day and only done to say we did it. Back in early 2000's. The major point was having the summoner to do it.

I think the plus/minus on item only applies to the wielder, so you only get what you wield and same as merc. So merc with infinity doesnt give you the minus, just the aura.

Right, but this value applies to charms, spells, and recently traps as well. So does it apply to skeletal mages? Thats what in unclear about. I do not think it does but will have to test in hero editor by cutting it out as a modifier to see for sure.

The +2 curses didn't increase the lower res and i run out of mana easily so the mana regen on magefist is more helpful. Also, + 1 fire skill does add a point to corspe explosion

Unsummon the ones that are cold, fire, or poison as you go and keep raising and keeping the ones that are lightning.

As far as skeletal mages go, this is about as good as it gets. so relatively speaking this is insanely good. If they could buff them a bit that'd be nice, but seems that wont happen anytime soon. If you're comparing to a nova sorc or hammerdin or javazon then fine i get why you can say it is lackluster. But when youve played the game as much as me and others have, then what do you do with all the gear besides try to make more builds? I haven't seen anyone try to make this build before and so to me that's what is exciting about it and id disagree that it is lackluster in that context. Thanks

Would not help my mages at all. The -enemy res only applies to the character or merc wielding the item.
