Regardless it being a ‘racing technique’ having the engine in the right rpm range, in the right gear for daily street driving is always an advantage. I did 190,000km on my original brakes. Rev matching when done properly allows for faster and smoother gear changes. You can eliminate A LOT of wear on the clutch and synchro’s this way. Never am I ‘riding the clutch’ or releasing it easily on the downshift. Revs are kicked up perfectly to where they need to be for the lower gear and I literally drop the clutch-hard. And yet it’s completely smooth. You cannot feel the engagement. But hey… this is all sure to go over one’s head who doesn’t see driving as fun and simply a chore to get from a to b.

The design of the mk5 is very futuristic some may not agree with me but I think its pretty good. I wish Toyota could have launched the mk5 supra in India. I live in India and I am a student. The Supra was not a "super car killer". And for the record, the A80 MK4 Supra when it was new in dealerships(from 1993 to 2002) , wasn't well received by the public (the MK3 A70 Supra is the highest selling Supra to date).

Correction it has 382 hp. And since it's a bmw engine that's wheel horsepower not "crank horsepower" like Nissan uses or other japanese and American brands use so it's more like 420 crank horsepower

And for the record, most don't realize that the 2JZ actually and originally came from the Toyota Artisto (JZA147)/Lexus GS Sedan. NOT the Supra A80.

@@sorason931 Actually the 2JZ is not half Yamaha, however it was built upon collaboration from Europe. It's basically just a stroked 1JZ(that was half built by Yamaha). And the 2JZ/1JZ are not far off from stock internal and stock bottom end power. Plus both engines are influenced from the European inline engines. Go figure

Mark up will ruin this as the sticks will cost more sales are down. I am older man and have many cars some auto some sticks. Originally the shifter was on the column and in the 60s options were stick was standard and auto a few hundred dollars more. Because of this it not a big deal which version i own and I bought the a-91 carbon fiber. Seems like the auto has fast times but not by much.l enjoy the car and don’t crave the stick.the engine can easily make alot more horsepower. I am happy with car and your choice of transmissions should be your choice not mine

You forgot a couple things man should really make sure you putting out al the right info. A90 supras with 2 port manifolds made 335hp (stupid underrated they where doing 370whp on dynos with over 400wtq) this is based off a a91 6port manifold Supra factory rates it at 382 but bmw underrates their cars they sitting around 400whp pairs with a manual thing is a weapon

I have had many BMW starting with the 1988 M3. The latest being a late model M5. As great a cars as these are they are not well mannered with some miles on them and not recommended out of warranty unless you've got a bag of money. And if you do have a bag of money, buy a used Ferrari not worried about how fast you're going 0 to 60 and enjoy the experience. Don't these people understand that Toyota Is still a ticking BMW time bomb.?
