Ford is trash. Owned two Silverados and got over 225k out then before transmission went. Motors were still solid. Traded them in for a GMC this time

If you are talking cheapest you forgot about the 914 and 924. They're often overlooked. I got to ride in the 914-6 and it was a go cart. Porsche should come out with a serious small light fuel efficient(maybe even hybrid) commuter. Something like a Honda Civic SI that's cheaper than the Boxster. They can call it the 925. They kinda screwed themselves jumping up to the 99- series because they're running out of 9s. It's gotta be the Porsche 1000 or go back to the numbers they skipped. 940,970? I'm sure there's a logical German explanation and solution. Start over at 101b?

EJ Subaru fanboys are the worst car people. They’ll rebuild their engines every 6 months because of the EJ’s horrible design and then tell everybody how amazing they are. I have a buddy who specializes in Foresters and LOVES Subaru, and he’s the first one to talk me and all our friends out of getting a Subaru anytime we bring it up. He’s a REAL Subaru fan who’s rebuilt and modified every single piece on his 4 Foresters (used to be 6 but one rusted away and the other got total’d by a red light runner). He absolutely doesn’t understate how horrible some of Subaru’s engines can be and how they ignore them instead of fixing them. He fixes them himself, talks about it openly and loves the cars and brand as a whole anyway, despite the problems he admits they have. That’s a REAL fan. A true fan doesn’t live in intentional ignorance, they admit the problems of the brand/vehicle/engine and love them anyway. Brand loyalty gets you nothing but screwed over and pointless anger. Criticism is a good thing and makes you an objectively better fan of X Thing you like than those that blindly accept all their faults and pretend they don’t exist.

some things u forgot to mention abt this car are the fact it has a perfect 50/50 weight distribution and weights less than a porsche 911 gt3rs, so with tuned suspension, camber, and a good set of tires u can out corner a porshe

The 350SL is a decent enough performer and it has the looks. You won’t have the expensive hydraulic issues . Avoid the 2006 models , which have the M272 motor ( balance shaft issues ) . By 2007 this was sorted out . Running costs are low in comparison to the V8. Although the V8 does have the noise ….and that is why you buy these after all …. If you buy a well maintained one and find decent specialist mechanic, it will not dent your wallet too much. Fix anything that goes wrong immediately or it will all mount up and kill you 😀

Wow spot on! funny thing is the Japananse can produce crappy engines, but we still hear about the poor 5.7L olds diesels - which given the new torque to yeild head bolts and the new style head gaskets were pretty good (and adding a aftermarket fuel filter) are still being talked about, forgetting all about Toyota president appologizing about the Tundra V8 issues that caused so many cam failure/engine failures. I bought into the early 80's Honda ball bearing advertisements on the seams, but succumbed to the early Honda rust issues. Ya, my 83 Chevette diesel looked two years old new on the dealer lot, but five years later it was still going strong while my 81 Civic was rusted thru. Funny how we use different metrics to judge Japanense vrs American.

The only used luxury car you should buy is a Lexus. But if you are a "KZbin Certified Mechanic" DIYer, like I am LOL, BMW is a good choice. There are tons of info on how to fix all the issues with BMW. They're really not that bad. I own a couple with the N54 Twin turbo engine. Lots of fun... HINT: There is no such thing as a "life time fluid". Change your transmission fluid every 40-50k miles. Just drain and fill. DO not flush. My E90 335i has 180K miles on the original transmission and turbo. Other than that I've replaced just about every component.

I've always wanted an sti hatchback (or even a wrx hatch) but when it was time to finally buy my first NEW car, the best I could do is my 2014 impreza premium hatch which i've loved... but it does NOT have any get up and go, and the reasonable "turbo kit" for a non-turbo impreza is basically a trade-in for a wrx (it's just not worth trying to install forced induction where it wasn't already)... what I REALLY want though, is for the levorg to come to the US... specifically the Levorg 2.0 STI Sport AWD which is REALLY similar to my impreza hatch, but with significantly upgraded suspension, transmission, forced induction, functional hood scoop, and can make sense both on the street, at a rally, and doing grand touring.
