I have a 1990 YJ, a 1997 Wrangler Sport TJ, and a 2012 Sahara JKU. It seems when the introduction of the over engineered Wrangler JL began being marketed, the demand for the YJ and the TJ Wranglers greatly increased. I have had complete strangers offer to buy my YJ or my TJ. However, I have had them since new. I have no desire to part with them. I drive all three Wranglers regularly with the 1997 Wrangler TJ being the one I drive the most. They are more than vehicles to me. They are my friends.

I own a clean '89 YJ and absolutely love it. I remember the YJ coming out in '87 and the hype over the square head lights. That being said I remember a bigger thing happening in '97 when the TJ was introduced. Coil springs! That was really insane. Now look how cherished coil springs are. Now 30 years later I find that my YJ is referred to as the last if the original Jeeps. Just shows how hesitant people ar over change.

Been throughly enjoying my 1990 YJ 2.5L for the past 3 years. Have done the usual maintenance and few repairs, but no major stuff and still basically stock condition with over 290,000 miles. Paid $3,700. for it, but it would take considerable more dollars for me to sell as I know now what it's capable of and the condition that it's in now. Just a fun weekend driver for an old guy Lol.

I search for a 1995 Jeep YJ as I knew about the galvanized bodies and frames for a few years and 4 years ago found a decent one with absolutely no rust. Traded the half doors on day one for full doors, should have kept them and just purchased the full doors. Bought a used hard top and tossed the rag top which had seen better days. Bought and installed front and rear hitches. The hitches were used, but completely functional. Installed new brakes and stainless steel brake lines. Installed all new hoses. Installed LED bulbs for the dash which made a huge difference in gauge visibility. I had the car fully primed and painted and it looks beautiful! I could not locate one with the 4.0 liter engine, however the 2.5 liter is a very good engine and starts every time even when sitting for a few weeks as this car is not my daily driver. Having the 5 speed transmission really helps. Thanks for the video.

Its absolutely dead-reliable. Looked at a few TJ's prior to buying the YJ, all with higher mileage, worse condition, and higher asking price. Owned a nice '99 TJ with the 4L for a few years before selling it in 2006. That one was more comfortable, but 25% worse mpg, and to be honest, the smile factor on the yj is as good or better.

I actually bought my YJ for two reasons. One is that these were the Jeep’s of my childhood (up to 95 of course) having seen them in movies and what forth. The other was this video right here. I’d seen a couple for sale out there and I had been wanting a wrangler for a while but they all seemed expensive. I didn’t really want the YJ mainly because the square headlights here ugly and seemed blasphemous. Then I watched this video and got extremely interested in the ugly. Literally with a week or so of watching this video I went out and bought my YJ. Not once despite any issues have I ever regretted buying my 89 affectionately named Marvin. Thank you for inspiring me to take that leap of faith.

I have a totally rust free 1995 YJ Jeep Wrangler 4 cylinder, 5 speed with about 155,000 miles. The 1995 model was the only one with a galvanized body, thus better rust protection. I was thinking of unloading it for some other 4x4, but with air conditioning. Now, I’ll have to reconsidered and just sweat it out. Dang!

I’ve had a few YJs but my favorite was a 1995 Rio Grande. I sold it last year and it’s the one sale I regret. The original cloth seats were perfect and it had never been wrecked. Of course it had the usual rust areas since I live here in NY state. Oh well.

@richeastmain4031
@richeastmain4031 Жыл бұрын
@@JuanGuzman-op3hw Yes it had that interior and I sold it for only $2500 just before the prices went crazy. It was a really late 95 so it had some TJ parts on it like the rubber windshield bumpers on the hood, a TJ steering box and TJ style hinges on the rear door. It was another one of the vehicles I should have kept!

I had a 1987 Wrangler sport model (black and tan) and then traded it for a 1991 Wrangler Renegade (red/red). They were completely stock and were my favorite vehicles I ever owned. I still wish I owned one of them. I constantly wonder where they are at now.

.....or anywhere else for that matter. I've owned 3. A 1993 in pristine shape-red 4 cylinder 5 speed soft top; a 95 repaint - same motor but auto (uggghhh) soft top; and a lifted 93 4 cylinder (also had a really good yellow repaint) 5 speed HARD top that previous owner had removed front and rear track bars after a spring over conversion. Scared the crap out of me when I first drove it so immediately put on a JKS adjustable front and stock rear track bar. Other than being a little overpriced, the biggest issue I had were the gutless 4 banger (auto was the worst), and the 2 soft top ones....LOUD. So just find a used hardtop right? No....$1-1.5k minimum for a beat up hardtop. JUST the hardtop - no Jeep included. Finally bought 2018 JL, and I'll never look back. Gas mileage still blows, but at leat it can get out of it's own way.

I bought a 93 Wrangler Renegade. It is automatic and in great condition. It has just about all the original parts and design. I really like it. It is the first Jeep that I own. My folks have been having jeeps for several years now, so, I know what modern jeeps feel like and be. But I chose the 93 Jeep over the newer designs because it was a rare and cool find. In Del Rio, Texas I bought the Renegade for 8 thousand. Pretty good deal given that it's valued from 8 to 11 thousand. I'd like to keep it for a bit longer but I am most likely going to buy a new vehicle next year after I graduate and work.

YJ added track bars to help road manners. CJ had a 'wide track' axle starting in '80 or '81. Axles were actually wider by a couple of inches.

Track bars are no where near the same thing as sway bars. CJ-7s weren't any wider than CJ-5s. Around 83 they put wider axles under all the CJ models.
