So yes, we all know the Edmonton Oilers are off to a bad start, but this was the time to get some mojo back. Coming into tonights matchup the Oilers were 10-0-2 in their last 12 against Nashville and had already beaten them once this year. Perfect time to get the season turned around, right? Well, Ryan O'Reilly had other plans scoring a hat trick and technically, scoring two goals on ONE shift! I talk about it all in todays NHL hockey video!

Dont build your team on 2 players. You need depth, some cap space for building team and ffs some defensive defensemen. Goaltending is bad, but greatly due to defense and defensive play from fowards. Campbell and Skinner are doing everything they can.

Bullshit. You could see that it was possible. Just that no one would take you seriously. Oilers were tryharding too early in the preseason and all this "motivation" stuff does not matter when leadership thinks more hours = better outcome. That is not the case. Their training and management processes and culture need to change fast. Oilers culture cannot handle any setbacks and even the maina characters of their team look confused and irritated when they lose. Seems like they cannot believe it, and if they cannot believe that they can lose how can they ever fix their misplays? >2023 and not knowing basic sociology of humans ISHYGDDT

100%. TBF, i dont think any goaltender could "look good" playing for this oilers team. First things first, we need better defensive play- and this extends beyond our literal defensemen. Ironically, we need more players like Yamamoto. The people that sh!t on him simply DO NOT know hockey. he was such an unsung hero, with the most forced turnovers vs TIO. He was the glue that held the league leading PK last season. Absolute L on that trade. now hes a 4th liner with 3 mins tio per game. Utterly Ridiculous.

McDavid is an amazing hockey player. But, as an outsider I don’t think he has leadership skills. I think his personality is boring and never seems to be a good person. People like Crosby, Lemieux, Gretzky, etc etc. all were great leaders and friends with people on and off the ice. That’s what lacks people like McDavid and Matthews. Matthews just likes being a celebrity. McDavid likes being the best. Bother are talented but seem to not try and help others around them be better.

He showed his back stroke and his specialty the face first sprawl. He has honed that sprawl over the years, after finding him self on his knees pulling the puck out he learned to leap forward like he knows where the puck is or is going (he doesn't) and when the light goes on he can savor the fan appreciation of "oh look how hard he's trying". Another favorite for Jack is never control the puck on an initial shot, cause if they take 3/4 shots, it helps your average.

Hyman has bad timing because Dubas caused their troubles and now that he is gone they will recover once they turf Keefe who is a Dubas piece. Same guy hamstringing the Leafs has been hamstringing the Oilers for over a Decade,Dellow and Dubas were and are connected, so are Schwartz and a lot more dirty pool type of people. Hyman should check out his Employers a little closer before signing on. Leafs are free now and Penguins are the new target, Dubas will not make it in the NHL again he is a conjob and Sidneys career is now officially over because the heat Toronto felt is now going to b on the Pens, only Keefe is hooping the leafs now..

The team has learned to lose & no longer knows how to win. It’s a psychological team problem. Every loss we hear the same pablum - gotta fix the mistakes - from every person in the oilers organization. What I see from that is that no one is held accountable - whether it be management, coaching or players.

I like the Oilers, I would like to see them come back, but it is definitely getting to "do or die" time already. I agree with the old saying that you cannot make the playoffs before (American) Thanksgiving, but you can fail to make the playoffs by that time. Especially with the points awarded for overtime losses, it just becomes too hard to make up ground after falling behind.

Im a die hard Oilers Fan... born and raised and bread to love and remain loyal to my oil... Heres what were now seeing is the waste of cap spending into the 3 contracts and overpayment of 3 players who havent even made it to the finals yet... when your paying 30.250m$ a season for 3 players who havent even made a killer cup run yet.. you gotta ask yourself why.. or is it because canadian franchise players get taxed hefty? you look and The penguins here k? 14.8m between crosby and malkin.. then the oilers.. Nurse and McDavid for 21.75m? like What? now that weve thrown this much cap space we now no longer have options to shuffle with we are now out of cards and chips... Draisaitls contract was amazing business.. their should have been a clause in mcdavids contract for more pay once he at least reached the finals.. you can see he doesnt wanna really win the oilers a 6th cup in his body language and his reactions to poor runs.. We have overpaid these guys and now we cannot afford to gain anymore critical depth pieces or players in the roster.. we lost our options when we piad 30.250m$ for 3 players who hadnt even made a finals. Its shit business by shiet owners

Lineup is mediocre on defense, grit, facoffs and goaltending. The Oilers don't have a checking line to shut down the opponents top line. McDavid and Draisaitl have too much ice time. They need to improve their two way game in order to be considered real contenders.
