I recently set a goal to deadlift my mile time or better. I followed Adam Klink's Run Fast, Squat Heavy program found here: adamklink.gumroad.com/l/YNxoC....
My Deadlift went from 465 lbs to 545 lbs and my mile time went from 6:09 to 5:37.

I love this challenge a lot. I've also been enjoying the running lifting progression. As an ultra runner who lifts for strength I often get told "you move well for a big guy" or "imagine how good you'd be without the weight lifting" great to see someone else smashing it in both disciplines

Why would it be 5:45? 545 is a little under half way between 500 and 600, so shouldn't your goal to hit also be a little under 5:30 given this rule?

One thing I immediately noticed about your technique is how explosive you are from the knee up. Clearly all the time you spent doing snatches and cleans. Congrats on what is essentially a PR. I remember when you pulled 600 and you were way bigger then you are currently. Keep it up Alan, you are one of my favorites.

It's interesting that you are the 2nd KZbinr I've seen who had a goal like this. Nick Simmons also had the goal for a while of doing a 500lbs deadlift and a 5 minute mile on the same day. for him a 5 minute mile is very doable, but he still hasn't hit the 500lbs deadlift. Congrats on hitting this perfect ballance. My current mile pr is a 7 20, and my deadlift pr is 395. so I've got a while to go.
