Agreed about the iPad not being laptop replacement. The worse part about that, is it's self inflicted by apple. They chose to cripple their own hardware, for sales. You look at MS or Samsnung, and their only limitations are because they can't make the thing better. Apple can easily make the thing better, but they care more about the profit from selling you two devices, then they do about the customer.
@Psicoeducazione4 ай бұрын
@@TheRealMafooI am not sure that Apple does so only because they want to sell both the macbook and the iPad. Yes, they want it, but imagine what could be an iPad with mac os functionalities when attached to a keyboard. I think it would sell MUCH MORE than the current iPad, and perhaps much more than macbooks. Not only is that a marketing choice, but also a choice dictated by branding: they don't do anything that is not apple philosophy centered. Think of how much time it took for having a calculator on the iPad. They didn't do it unless it was a wow feature. In my opinion they ar limited by this philosophy.

I did the same. I use a MacBook Pro and I had an iPad Pro but the latter I found to be such a waste of money. I ended up selling it and buying a Microsoft surface pro which is a much better device. My biggest computer purchasing mistake was a M1 12.9-inch iPad Pro with 2TB storage and magic keyboard. The hardware is fantastic but iPoor OS cripples it to run in a locked ecosystem of mostly mediocre smart phone style apps. It doesn't even have a desktop class browser due to Apple's awful web kit. I object to paying a lot of money for a tablet computer when I don't have complete freedom the sideload the apps I want to use or cannot access the hypervisor to run virtual machines. I've been using Windows 11 arm on a Windows Dev kit 2023 for past 20 months. It started as an experiment, but I loved having a Windows computer that was silent and responsive, as all the apps I need have native arm64 binaries. It even runs many of the games I like, and is especially good at retro game emulation, as several emulators, such as Dolphin, Duck Station and PPSSPP have Windows 11 arm64 binaries. I plan to replace my iPad Pro with a Surface Pro 11 OLED model when 5G becomes available later this year. It has double the CPU and GPU performance of the Windows Dev Kit with its Snapdragon 8cx Gen3 processor, so everything I run on the Dev Kit will run with ease on the Surface Pro 11. If you want a competitively priced x64 Windows Tablet which can also game, the Minisforum V3 tablet with Ryzen 7 8840U processor, 32GB RAM and 1TB storage is exceptionally good. It is similar in design to a Surface Pro with detachable tiltable keyboard, pen, and stand, but is around half the price for the equivalent specification.

I have the SP9, and had the SP2017 before that and every Surface before that right back to the RT. I can say with confidence that the Surface Pro has the best speakers of any Windows tablet. I can also say that I have watched many, many Netflix, Amazon, Disney+ and Sky series and movies with speakers and on Bluetooth headphones. I find the Surface PixelSense screen to be excellent. Really good. Immersive and allows you to just get lost in the content. Is it better than iPad? No. However, I am never really watching a film and comparing it to an iPad next to my SP9. I never find myself saying ...Those blacks in that scene on my Surface were just not black enough. The difference that is possible by having an OLED screen is real and I bet they are significant but is it possible, easy and most importantly CHEAPER to watch content on the Surface Pro with the non-OLED screen? YES. The non-OLED screen is the same one as on the SP8, 9, and 10. I have been watching KZbin on it today and looking for any challenges. I got so into the content that I forgot to watch for pixels-I had to go back and watch again haha. So YES - it is great for movies and shows. Absolutely great. At least in my use... It has been great. I am picky... I do pixel peep and don't like it when colour banding appears ... On this device - I just don't get that. Everything is smooth, clear and immersive.

ARM adoption is the question. Won't be like Mac, where it was mandatory because the original Intel based hardware was just ended. When was any technology perfect? When was any technology made for everyone? If any technology was deemed perfect, then why release upgrades at all? It's always been about use case. Any judgement immediately changes based on a person's use case so the statement of "Surface is not really a good tablet/Surface is not really a good laptop" is idiocy to me. The metric changes wildly depending on who you ask and what they're doing. When you're on the go and need to do real work, running desktop class applications with a desktop class OS and you want a device that's more lightweight and has touch support by default, Surface is hard to beat. iPads can't run desktop software and MacBooks don't support touch screens at all. No, just had to return mine, had it for 2 days, the X Elite version, and it was headache after headache barely 5 minutes in. I even called Microsoft Support for the first time in my life because I was so amazed at how bad this was. Apparently the calendar app does not work with ARM yet? Oh and neither does Microsoft OneNote? Apparently Microsoft XPS Writer also is not updated to work on ARM? And PowerPoint is also not fully optimized to run on ARM? And I have to use the old Outlook? Oh wait, what? Neither Outlooks are fully ready on ARM? And then I went to download some typical programs I use and here we go, nothing is made for ARM. And if it is, there's warnings left and right that ARM isn't the primary development focus so will likely be in a less stable state. From AWS, to Slack, to development environments, you can't work on this thing, you can't microsoft office on this thing, you can't do ANYTHING on this thing. And wait it gets better, MS support said they know that the entire Microsoft Office suite has a myriad of issues on ARM, and they basically told me that it's new and future updates would improve usability. (I don't have time for that) This is like, a 2004 Apple MacOS experience, the only things that have a chance to work are Microsoft apps, and even those that work, do so rather poorly. And third party apps are few and far between, and essentially is a glorified web browser and word processing machine. I returned that thing and got a Surface Pro 10 Business Edition with Intel CPU, it just works.

Like, come on we all know you're exaggerating windows battery life. I can sit through a 4 hour zoom class and then do 5 hours of homework in Catia on my Flow X13 and still have 20% battery left. Like, as long as you dont have admin installed spyware like force point, windows machines are not these 'rush between outlets' machines that mac fanboys think they are.

Unfortunately; it runs Windows, which has become a total mess with pop -up ads and is nothing more than malware software in my humble opinion.

Fortunately you can disable them using third party tools. There are video guides on KZbin too so it is not much of a problem.

I run windows daily on multiple machines and I haven't seen pop-up ads or anything like that. Yes, ms does annoying stuff (around edge and start menu) but no pop-ups. Maybe it's because I'm in the EU...

@@KazrBrekker I agree, but it shouldn't have to be that way.

Unless you’re running, Lennox, doesn’t Mac Kinda does the same thing🙃 where you need third-party apps to solve our problems like you not being able to use your mini LED screen to that max unless you have a third-party app that allows you to max out the brightness😂 every OS has his problems, dude
