I dont know if i agree with your opinion that this deck was good. It certainly looked very capable of hitting the super aggro openers where you just go 1-2-3 drop and removal-removal-removal. But I find the "fair" aggro doesnt cut it in this set tbh. You either need bombs or a way to really make your synergies tick and generate more value than whatever bombs/synergies your opponent can throw at you. Unfortunately I also dont think you made any major errors while drafting? Except passing compleated huntmaster p3p2 - that card is so premium in BR a lot better imo than nezumi informant which is what you chose there. It's got great synergy with double juri because you can keep sacking the incubate tokens it creates to itself turn after turn. I might have speculated on splashing djeru given you already had 4 legendaries and maybe I would have even tried to switch into boros after seeing heliod p2p6? (not so sure about that last bit though)

Once opened a sunfall and a kroxa p1 - obviously p1p1 sunfall, passed a juri and a stormclaw pick3 and pick5, but when the kroxa wheeled i pivoted (splashing sunfall in the end) and they all came back too. Got all the red/black cards that were opened (sadly, nothing insane bar a phoenix and 2 invasion of karsus) but still only ended up 5-3, the rb sac deck just kinda seems to suck. At least if you build it as intended. Opened a shark p3, but it was too late, i still sometimes lament the uw control deck i could have built that draft.

Kroxa is such an unbeatable bomb it's one of the few reasons to go into RB (Chandra being the other)

Red Black sac has just been a complete trap from my experience. Your creatures just don't size up and if you fall behind on the board you risk getting snowballed by battles. The sac payoffs are pretty weak too. There's the promise of steal + sac but the Act of Treason effect just doesn't come around often and you need too many things to line up for it to be good. I will be avoiding this archetype probably for the remainder of the format.

I think building exclusively around sacrifice is the trap, but BR is a real deck. You just should probably draft it as a good stuff pile. That said, if the sac enablers and payoffs are all there, mostly at uncommon, it can go off. Nummy is losing here to bombs, and not much you can do if you don't draw the removal, or they land bomb after bomb, or recur the bombs. BR has bombs too. The Archpriest of Shadows and Rankle and Torbram are bomb-y. The best removal is in these two colors too, so it already gives it a leg up. Red isn't super deep though, so you're less likely to end up with an average good deck. If black in the packs is good, then you'll be alright.

you just need the threaten. that has always been what the br sac deck relies on in basically every format. get multiple threatens and its great. if you don't, its fairly weak.

@@crushedscouter9522 I get that it's what the deck is about, but it's also an uncommon, which I think is absurd when you have Final Flourish for 2 MV at common that just gets rid of a creature. Even if you have the threaten, how many sac outlets are you looking for, and how do you guarantee that you always have one on board when you threaten? Because otherwise threaten is just a bad card.

@Dylan Hamada I think you're correct in that card quality is more important in this format than synergy. It seems to me so far that there's just too much going on for you to put a deck together where all the cards play off each other.

Yeah, the aggro decks need to be pretty insane. I've seen many "good curve, removal, and creature quality" end up going 4-3 or worse

The second loss is for sure a premature concession. You can sac Juri kill Gargantua and have outs to still be in the game. And even if you miss, your opponent has to pull the trigger; if you have any interaction it's not a great combat for them.
