To me, and after watching other KZbinr reviews for her, her kit is kinda bland and doesn't fit for me. Theres just do much better options now. Shes just another physical damage unit. Plus, I'm trying to save for Marcielle, Suzarans Mom, Lappyalter, Thorns Alter so.... hopefully I get both Pepe and Narantyua in the free exclusive pulls. Narantyua looks very interesting though. However, I am glad that HG is releasing non-broken limited units again like they haven't been doing for awhile. Edit: Also trying to spark for Virtuosa :)

Good luck with your spark! I'm planning to spark as well for Muelsyse on Lapptop's banner. I had to restrict my pulls for Pepe, as much as it pained me to do so, because I'm also aiming to get the Dungeon Meshi cast. (I had to reach the full 120 pity for TWO collab banners so far, so it's a warranted concern.) Hope we'll have our wishes answered then!

As a Pepe wanter, especially one who loved her from RA, I would not recommend her for the average player. What you did not highlight during her review is the vital difference between Earthshakers and Centurions: the latter blocks two enemies and hits one, but deals an additional 50% aoe attack; the other blocks three and hits all enemies within her range according to block count. What this means is that, for laneholding, Centurions are more consistent for blocking mobs and medium-defense enemies, while Earthshakers are prone to leaking especially because of their lower block count and 50% aoe damage dealt. Think of it this way. Mob rushes are most often low-medium defense enemies that are coming in waves or a continuous stream. Pepe has to activate S2 or S3 to deal with such waves because she doesn't deal enough damage at a fast enough rate to prevent leaks. This is because Pepe only hits one enemy with 100% of her damage, while the rest get hit by 50% from the aoe aftershock. Centurions can deal with these mob rushes without using skills, or if they do it's either an unlimited duration skill (Blaze) or the uptime is strictly better on their skills than Pepe's (Gavialter's S2/S3). They hit at least 3 enemies with 100% of their full attack all the time, and more if you're using buffers that can increase their block count. What you did NOT say is the lack of range in Pepe's attacks. S3, her boss-slaying skill, has a one-tile range in front of her. When the enemy in front of her dies, the mobs around her aren't hit by her aoe attacks. (You can argue that S2 has a range extension--the size of a Spreadshooter's range--but it's a random targeting skill. You're more likely to leak with it, especially if the rng is not on your side.) 6-star Centurions have range extensions built into their kit (again, Blaze S2 and Gavialter S2). They can hit more enemies and don't necessarily have to be at bonking range, though they do get more damage and survivability with their modules. That is also another point you did not touch up on. Pepe has NO utility at all, and no survivability, outside of her stun on skill activation. If the enemy cannot be stunned, or if they hit hard AND fast, then she's toast. Centurions have survivability skills or talents built into their kits. Specter has her immortal S2, Blaze her 50% invulnerability for ~8 seconds after getting to low health, Gavialter gets healed more when her HP's less than 20/40%. If you're looking for high damage numbers in a melee unit, with a side serving of aoe damage, Pepe's your pick. Otherwise, she's relegated as a low priority pick, especially with folks like Nymph, Dungeon Meshi cast, Siege Alter, THE Lapptop, and Thorns Alter coming up. Yeah, sorry for the wall of text brother, but even as a Pepe wanter I could not recommend her to average players without listing a whole lot of caveats. Don't take this as an attack on your person. I'm happy that you encourage others to pull for Pepe especially with the negative opinion about her that's floating around, but I was hoping for a more nuanced take. Wa, I read all of that and I agree, I should've done more research on this but I was in a crunch, thank you for pointing all this out! It's just hard for me to test because my cn account sucks. I guess we both have parts to improve on, though; like me being more concise and polite with my words! Anyways, I hope your pulls were good (if you've done them already). I got two Narantuyas in 101 pulls for Day 1, but no Pepe. I will have to let her come home via the remaining free pulls, otherwise I risk my guarantees for the DunMeshi folks and Lapptop herself.
