A friend at work couldn't wait to buy his dream Corvette that he parked in the garage, rarely took out for rides, and traded it back in the a Jeep SUV. This friend was also a serious financial investor, but realized the money was just sitting in his garage. We all have toys. But the more toys I get the more I become a slave to the toys. @@T.S.000 1st point: insurance varies quite a bit for a car like this, if you read through forums the average seems to be roughly $1500-3000 a year for full coverage. If its some idiot who shouldn't even be owning one in the first place, someone with poor credit, not much history, or marks on your insurance record, then it can be several thousand a year. 2. The huracan gets about 15mpg combined, so its not horrible, plus the majority of owners don't use it as a daily driver. Cost of gas really isn't a factor at all. 3. Well sure but we're talking about how much it costs to own the car. As far as exotic sports cars and supercars go, the huracan really isn't that bad idk what to tell you man. Obviously for the average person its expensive but if you're making $300k+ a year, its certainly doable.

@ Nope. I think a car is a necessity unfortunately in the united states. I’m a student rn, and I’ll only be able to get one after I graduate, so in 2027. For the NEED, one would get a USED car that is economical and easy to maintain, and keep it until it turns to dust. I’ll probably get a used Model 3 which would cost about 20k with the 4k used ev tax credit. As a financially responsible person, AND A CAR GUY, I still think it’s not wise to burn that much money, especially on something that’s absolutely an extravagant luxury.
@omichaelnato5388
@omichaelnato5388 2 күн бұрын
@@shubhamc wait so you’re a student and going to buy a $20k but you think $7M is needed for a $250k car? Everyone dies eventually and the money will have to go somewhere. If you aim to give all your money away to feel good so be it. The car can be sold and the experience won’t be forgotten. Then the “what if” will never be questioned again.
@shubhamc
@shubhamc 2 күн бұрын
@@omichaelnato5388 Yes, because for someone who doesn’t own a car but needs it, it is a necessity. A luxury on the other hand, should only be had if one can watch it burn and not be affected. For most responsible people, for a car, it comes out to be around 4% (go look at the Ferrari & other supercar forums). It’s not a hard and fast rule and can differ from person to person, but mostly what truly successful people have (unless cars are what make you money). You’re right, experiences are what matter the most. If I was in OP’s situation, I would’ve gotten a used C8 or an R8 (which is an actually daily usable huracan, but half the price) and have had those experiences with my family in it. Would be vastly similar for him & his family, they’d have a fun time, and still be financially responsible. One can always rent a more expensive car and take it to track to scratch that itch.

I'll most likely never see the inside of a lambo in person...and I'm completely content with that. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
