You Speak Lionel Cartwright

As we move toward a more just society, I have to start with my own heart. I want to honestly confront any traces of racism or bigotry there, however dormant. Humility, honesty, and stillness are the portals to my becoming more aware of people with dramatically different life stories than mine; whose shoes I have not and cannot walk in. The best I can do is listen. Listen and learn. And then, make adjustments in my thinking and my actions.
This song came out of these convictions, along with a determination to grow less blind and more kind; to listen more and talk less; to stop hiding and start showing up.
