I literally will not talk politics with anyone because no matter what side you are on if you disagree on one point with a person they can get so defensive and that's just not the kind of conversations I want to have

I don’t think that’s a good thing. You’re being willfully ignorant if you’re trying to shut out politics, that essentially drive how this country runs. That is 100% a luxury and not everyone gets that. We’re not at a time and place in history to just be like “Oh, whatever 🤷‍♀️.” Human rights are constantly being questioned and people are dying. So no, I strongly disagree with your statement. I think how COVID happened in this country opened my eyes and gave me that push to research what I believe politically. I do think it’s still important to have conversations, but massive loss of respect for people who refuse to see science and common sense (not talking about you lol).

@@bookkeeper8092 I'm not saying it's bad to know about politics or have a view point, but people have made it such a point these days that everything has to revolve around it and that you have to choose a side because the way I've approached it is to always look at each topic and my stance rather than just support a whole party...and I feel like we've lost the idea of understanding others perspectives without attacking because we've been driven by a two party system that says we have to be with the party or against it cause the other parties never get recognition enough to run against the big two... so trust me I'm not saying don't learn about politics, I'm saying learn your own opinion and stick to it but be open to a conversation with someone who isn't of the same mindset because I've had conversations with others who aren't the same as mine and I felt like I had a better understanding of why they thought that and by being respectful I opened a new viewpoint for them
