That last line hurts so bad! "It was you... it's always been you... and me." Don't get me wrong. I LOVE that you used it as a sort of "fix" for the real thing. But the pain is in the fact that you HAD to use it as a fix. That line is a stab in the back, not just to Castiel, who for 11 years was dedicated to the Winchesters, specifically Dean, even when he was possessed and not himself, he found a way back to him/them, he found a way to stay loyal, through thick and thin. No, that line was a stab in the back to EVERYONE who crossed the Winchester's path over the 15 years of Supernatural. Jack, Charlie, Kevin, Ellen, Jo, Bobby, Jody, Rowena, Crowley (sometimes), Benny, Eileen, Ash, Maggie, and many more. They were family....Family don't end with blood.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. When I first watched that scene in the barn in 15x20 I was completely dumbfounded that they would use these kind of lines that are usually used in a romantic context for TWO BROTHERS. the whole episode was a slap into the face tbh. It always tastes bitter on my tongue when I hear the line because I know it's origin but I'm adamant to change that! Because Cas, and the rest of their family deserved better.
