Salam, I reverted 30 years ago here in America, and I wish I had a forum such as this to discuss my journey with fellow reverts. For decades I have felt I lived in between worlds, and it has at times been a deep struggle. Throughout the years, with effects of a failed multi-cultural marriage & the intense Muslim hate that exists here in America, I lost my way. I am an American Revert of 30 years. When I became muslim I learned everything in English first then I moved on to Arabic. Even though I was married to a muslim, He refused to teach me anything, but insisted our children must be brought up muslim. As a child to I was brought up christian but never believed I should pray to Jesus (peace be upon him) in order to get to Allah (God). After holding my first born child, that I was told I never could have children, I looked into my sons eyes and knew a family with two religions would end up have no religion. So I began learning About Islam. For the first time in my life Islam made sense ! I raised my children Muslim. Fast forward 15 years I ended up divorcing my childrens father. With spending time by himself without me doing everything , eventually he eventually came back to islam. My birth family disowned me, but even though I lost my birth family, I gained more than I ever lost!

Well, the problem with Allah is that it is just like the Father in Heaven in the Bible, the same. But Islamic religion lies and says the word and power that realizes the word of Allah are not God themselves. And that doesn’t work because for Allah to be eternal his wish/word and power that realizes his wish also have to be eternal. And know think. Only God is eternal (Alpha and Omega). That’s why Allahs word and power that realizes his word are God too. The eternal word and the eternal power realizing it belong to eternal Allah eternal Allah and the eternal power belong to the eternal Word The eternal word and eternal Allah belong to the eternal power By belonging it is not meant that two are under one another, but that two fit together like a puzzle. Two always belong to the third because the third is always God. That‘s the reason why two always belong to the third. The third can do anything he wishes with the other two. I didn't know this was a thing. My first intro to Islam was not ideal. It was "the first ressurection" by the Nation of Islam, that was introduced to African Americans in the US. Many have transitioned from it to proper teachings well. Others still practice in such vacuums and others turned away feeling betrayed or just to ill equipped to properly practice and receive the faith. I have a relative who transitioned quite well and in a very large christian family is a very unifying beacon. I found this video by going to one he sent, on a hard heart. And your video has melted mine. I am in tears. Your story is so real to the layman and your intentions so pure it's more compelling than anything I've seen or heard. Maybe so many years spent agnostic, it resonates to my core.

Abu Said said, "We went out with Allah's Apostle for the Ghazwa of Banu Al-Mustaliq and we received captives from among the Arab captives and we desired women and celibacy became hard on us and we loved to do coitus interruptus. So when we intended to do coitus interruptus, we said, 'How can we do coitus interruptus before asking Allah's Apostle who is present among us?" We asked (him) about it and he said, "It is better for you not to do so, for if any soul (till the Day of Resurrection) is predestined to exist, it will exist."

It's the one for granted ,this type of Muslims will enter hell fire first. For every revert story, there is at least one lesson to be learnt. And here are my top 3 revert stories: 1)yusuf estes - in his almost 2 hour lecture, full of wits, he thought me how to use Ayatul kursi to help others understand Allah 2)Yosha evans - his bible studying story is an eye opening to someone who knows nothing about bible. His story reminds me of the story of maryam and the nasrani community from the quran. If u read the quran, it gives u an understanding of how christians come to be who they are today. It is a real revelation to me and make me love reading the quran more. 3) omar zaid - yes, i listen to every word he said. He is a very good story teller. He revert to muslim on his own. Since the beginning, he is a man with principle. So no surpise he become a muslim. He was asked to leave by his wife and fellow christian community the moment they knew. The one lesson that stands out for me is he said you can't become educated if all you do is only recite. This is so true. And he thought me about fate. We need to let Allah managed our lives. Yeah SubhanAllah. Since I’ve started becoming more practicing and seeking more knowledge of deen I’ve begun to realize that it’s not only reverts that struggle with family…and in fact in some cases the Muslims that become more practicing have it just as difficult if not more…each and every time they adopt a new sunnah or what not, their family is there to say “oh it’s only sunnah stop being so extreme you don’t need to do that”

MashaAllah, thanks so much for words of wisdom. As Muslims our highest aspirations should be learning to read the Quran in Arabic. I have been procrastinating for many years to learn to read Quran in Arabic, it's my personal Jihad and InshaAllah I will accomplish this task. Alhamdullahi I read the transliteration and English Quran daily but it's nothing compared to learning Arabic. May Allah SWT increase our Eeman and make it easy for us to learn to read Quran in Arabic Ameen Ya Rabb. Jazakallahu Khairan.

MashaAllah, In April 2022, in the blessed month of Ramadan, I had some major surgeries. Pre and post surgeries I enrolled for the Dawah Training Course and New Mentorship Course and issued certificates by one of my favorite Islamic Scholars, Shaykh Abdul Rahim Green. I loved the GORAP training it was awesome and insightful, its a different approach to way I am used to giving Dawah and also widened my horizon on how to give Dawah to reverts and humanity MashaAllah. Before surgeries I pledged to Allah SWT if I survived surgeries, I will give Dawah to Muslims and Non- Muslims InshaAllah. It is a miracle ,I survived 3 major surgeries at once,till date the Doctors and Surgeons are surprised tumors were non- cancerous. Alhamdullahi, I remained steadfast and focused my attention on prayers, 5 daily Salat, Nawafis and Istikarah. Also I strongly believe in the Prophecy of our beloved Prophet Muhammed SAW ' Black Seed Oil cures all diseases except death. Prior to surgeries I was not placed on medication due to several health issues and complications. Anytime I feel excruciating pains both Internally and externally, I will drink Black Seed Oil& rub it on affected parts of my body. In the Noble Quran Allah SWT says: 'He will test us with loss of Health, wealth, lives, properties, etc but say to those who believe when in adversity who say ' We Belong,To Allah, To Allah SWT we will return" Allah SWT promises them everlasting bliss. May Allah SWT make it easy for us to pass our tests with endurance patience, perseverance Ameen Ya Rabb. Jazakallahu Khairan.

I'm a born muslim from Saudi Arabia and I always feel glad to see reverts join Islam and talk about their journey it's a really joyful thing and I'm really impressed on how a lot of them stick to Islam and practice it more accurately than some born muslims. Just one thing that may help is in case if perhaps a revert goes to christmas to meet his family because Allah and his prophet strongly advised for staying close to your family and build a family kinship.. you see "Deen" is easy and Allah is kind just make your intention or "Neyya نيه" when you go to such non muslim holiday is to see and connect with your family and not celebrate the event and just don't eat pork or drink alcohol thus you have not sinned. I'm not entirely sure nor I have a scholarship but it sound's reasonable and fair and Allah know's best. good luck and may Allah bless you both

The story @think revert said is about a man coming from morocco, he was traveling day and night to come to the place where imam malik was. He and his people had questions about the deen ( I don't know how many), from nearly all the questions, imam malik he answered indeed " I don't know", so the man from morocco was confused and dissapointed, because he ( imam malik) was the great imam of that time, also a lot of people were waiting for the answers. But yeah sometimes it is better to say I don't know, even if u feel the pressure to know the answer.

Merhaba. I am studying more about Islam at the moment and will eventually become a muslim, inshallah. I think in Turkiye it's difficult because of it being a secularist country, which at one point the hijab was banned. More and more people in Turkey thinks that Islam is outdated and they're wanting to embrace secularism more. LGBTQ community is getting bigger there too, due to western influences. I am living in a western country and I can only say that the western culture is toxic. People getting drunk, women getting drunk and sleeping around from a very young age, jumping from one guy to another. Money here is great but money isn't everything. There's no culture here. Everyone is individualistic, only care about what they can gain for themselves.

Ben, to your point on something missing between a revert and his non-Muslim family, may Allah bring you and your family closer InshaAllah, but it happens in the larger Muslim community between Muslims too, most of us born Muslims tend to be very casual Muslims in our practice, so when a friend or relative starts practicing Islam as Islam is expected to be practiced, the social circle around him\her becomes a bit awkward around that person, even though everyone's a Muslim, and it's natural in my opinion. And it's a test of one's faith, nothing is more powerful than blood relationship, but do you desire Allah's pleasure more? That's the test. We all have to go through this test, reverts have it more difficult though. JazakAllah khair, may Allah strengthen our Iman, Ameen.

Asalamolaykum my own experience of meeting reverts is that you have a pure understanding of Islam. Sadly born Muslims tend to mix faith with culture which can sometimes be detrimental . You guys start from scratch yet us born Muslims have to shrug off the cultural aspect ...we are all on one journey may we all better our Deen and reach the other end and be given mercy from our creator for our mistakes . Lets all practice what we teach and speak and live our lives as good humans .We cannot be Muslims by name we have to prey and show it in our actions .That should come from the common man to the leaders of nations .Just a quick example if the Saudis who are blessed with wealth gave there due zikat poverty in the world would diminish ...says it all ..the young generations will inherit the world may allah guide us all.

I truIy believe that reverts are practising Islam as it should be practiced. Even though I was born into a Muslim family that isn't practising I feel like a revert as well. I started practicing and wearing a hijab few years ago when my son went to Jannah. My life before practising was like a non Muslim life. I was lost and was chasing material things to find peace and happiness. I didn't know at the time that I would find that contentment in Islam until few years ago when Allah brought back my son to Him and for me that is a biggest blessing in my life. Allah truely tests and guides the ones He loves. I feel very loved Alhamdulillah May Allah forgive and guides us all Ameen.

I feel as though at times, someone may be born a Muslim, but there could be a moment when they consciously decide to follow Islam themselves, I see this as reverting in a way too. May born Muslims come back to Islam in just the same way as “reverts”

Well, the problem with Allah is that it is just like the Father in Heaven in the Bible, the same. But Islamic religion lies and says the word and power that realizes the word of Allah are not God themselves. And that doesn’t work because for Allah to be eternal his wish/word and power that realizes his wish also have to be eternal. And know think. Only God is eternal (Alpha and Omega). That’s why Allahs word and power that realizes his word are God too. The eternal word and the eternal power realizing it belong to eternal Allah eternal Allah and the eternal power belong to the eternal Word The eternal word and eternal Allah belong to the eternal power By belonging it is not meant that two are under one another, but that two fit together like a puzzle. Two always belong to the third because the third is always God. That‘s the reason why two always belong to the third. The third can do anything he wishes with the other two. Thus each of the three is the SAME and ONLY (1) God that can do whatever he wants. The word can say: I can do whatever I want with MY power and MY Allah the power can say: I can do whatever I want with MY word and MY ALLAH Allah can say: I can do whatever I want with MY word and MY power All three can separate spatially All three cannot exist without each other because God only can do something when there is God, his word and his power realizing it That’s why Allah can’t be God. He has to be triunion just like the Bible says In case anyone wants to read on, here's some extra info: Love, holiness, beauty, justice are not eternal, but only the person who has the wish to be these attributes and uses the power to realize his wish (Father) is eternal the wish itself to be these attributes (e.g God should be love) is eternal the power itself to realize that wish is eternal But love etc. itself is not eternal This explains why e.g. love is not a 4 person from God and there are always only 3

I come from Pakistan where you find Muslims commenting on other Muslims' practices. It is really hard to be inclusive when you are living in a majority muslim country. my family wasn't religious when i was a little kid. But one day mom visited her friend and then i saw the picture of they-call-it-Jesus hanging on the wall. I kept looking at it and i got scared as i saw the red heart symbol in his chest. The picture of a handsome guy should not be scary, but i got scared to death as a child. i looked away every time I saw that picture. I wanted to go home so bad. I could not sleep during the night i think i got nightmare. and yes, i never like statue since i was kid. nobody taught me why. I just dislike them. no matter in what shape they are. The process and the quest until he found Hidayah from Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala was remarkable. A very critical person on everything around him eventually hit the heaven's door and Allah let him to come in...amazing story finding your faith.
