Of course the cables does something - otherwise there would not be sound coming out of your IEMs at all - and what they do they all do a little differently - some act as antennes as well…not what you want - you want your cable to do as little as possible…

I wonder which genius at the Simgot company decided to go with a software update code as the name of their new IEM instead of the name "Phoenix " when the iem has that name on it? Actually why do we have to deal with these code names ? I'm kinda ok with 2 letter 1 number type naming (dk2001, s12, dk4 etc) But when they basically sit on their keyboard to form their naming scheme it gets our of the hand.

Planars are overhyped , FYI I resold the 7hz timeless straight away when I discovered its very artificial metallic timbre, the hybrid BA+DD of the performer5 destroys it in fidelity. Even my cheap ass KZ ZSX did a better job in producing an enjoyable yet defined sound in comparison of the planar..

@@Cato-wm6zh You have mamy options already if your budjet allows to buy a Blessing 3. This one is known to be very good technically but the stock tuning can be a love-hate relationship because it is tamed in the bass freq impact. It's a iem that REQUIRE EQ to sound realistic and not just correct. Wait x-mass for a potential Dusk version release. The Variations are a more ENDGAME pair with not much to flaw except for the fit but they're so expensive.

Personally, i found the cadumus 8w to be too thick for an iem cable. It's so thick that it's hard to move the chin slider... its also uncomfortably heavy and microphonic. I prefer the leaner 4w version.

The jump between the Mest MKI & MKII must be HUUUUUUGE as Mest MKII are absolutely incredible - and I sold my Quintets within two weeks of owning them. The difference is galaxies apart. Quintet aren't shit but I only keep what I absolutely love - and I think much better can be had for around this price (Mangird Tea 2/Aful P5).

I saw the picture of the driver config for the quintet... what a incoherent mess this will sound. Please don't fall for the hype if you seek a natural reproduction of sound (instead of rushing for pure technicalities). TIMBRE at that price range should not be sacrificed for raw freq reproduction performance.

I personally don't understand the hype about Quintet. After owning this set for a couple days, there are some shortcomings that are apparent. This IEM sounds in general thin, weightless, dry, and quite artificial. In terms of resolution, not to be confused with the detail retrieval, it is quite decent but still less resolving than IEMs like timeless and blessing 2. I also find quintet has very weird peaks in the upper register as well that just contribute to sound raw and unrefined.
