Which method do you prefer, the LCO or LOC method? Which do you think is most effective? In this video, I put both methods to the test. Let's see which one works better on my low porosity hair.

QueenJoose LaMonica yes! That’s right! 👏🏾👏🏾 Everyone’s hair type has different elements. So I’m learning in this natural hair journey that some days I need to switch up with the products I have on hand, and just adjust to the way my hair reacts to certain hair products, not the other way around. Since I have been doing that my hair has started growing back more healthier , thicker and the curls are popping! Love these videos! 😊

It depends on how your hair reacts my hair stays moisturized longer with LOC. Also I notices when I put the oil on b4 the cream it locks in the water quicker as the water leaves my hair as quickly as it goes in. The cream is just to lock it in even more but it is not as sealing as oil. So when i put the cream on first the moisture leaves quicker and by the time I put the oil on the water has evaporated 50%. The cream is just to give me definition fir styling not to moisturize, the water and leave-in is the moisture for me
@ananyawright
@ananyawright 2 жыл бұрын
@@kapparhotau181 thank you. There is definitely a difference, especially if you have high porosity hair, which it sounds like you have. Our hair absorbs products quickly, but it also loses moisture just as fast

I have med-high porosity 4c low-medium density and tried the LCO method. Within 24hrs my hair felt bone dry. I went back to my LOC method and hair moisturized for a week and a half. Mine is probably more LLOC(water, leave-in, oil, cream). A year later tried LCO again with a heavier oil and hair stayed moisturized for 3 days and then was bone dry. I'm sticking with LOC 🤷🏾‍♀️

I shared the LCO method 10 years ago on a natural hair forum and got ripped to shreds. 😂 Glad to see it’s a trend. Switching up what you consider to be a liquid changes the game. A leave in vs a detangler vs honey aloe Vera juice or combos changes the way a styler works and can save you from having to throw away “ bad” product.

It seems to make a difference on my hair. I've been doing LOC for years before I even knew it was a type of method, then in the past year I switched to the LCO because I thought it made more sense. But then my hair seemed to always feel more dry and matte and tangle easily, just felt even more course, wasn't sure why. Then I went back to putting oil on first, and it has to be first right after water then any other leav-ins last, and it's been feeling soft moisturized longer again. So idk, it must make it difference on certain hair types.

I'm high porosity and LOC beats LCO. I tried to force LCO to work cus it makes more sense in my head but it just ends up dry with the oil sitting on top of my hair, I think hair gets "filled to capacity" somewhere along the process, so the order people do probably has a lot to do with their porosity. Even LC and LL and just C work for me but LCO is always a disaster lol

LCO makes more sense to me. If oil seals in moisture, it also seals it out. What’s the point in putting a cream on top of oil?!?! None of the moisture or nutrients from the cream will get in, so what’s the point?

That's what I use to think, but it is a bit more complicated than that. I just didn't;t delve into the science in this video

When I started my natural hair journey almost 7 years ago, I did the LOC method. I then tried the LCO method and never went back. Once a week I wash, deep condition, LCO then style. My go to style is twist outs. I also try to trim every 6 months or twice a year.

Hey love!! I've been doing the LCO method for years but don't think I've dabbled with the LOC method much, unless I did it by accident and just don't remember lol. Your hair looks so lush, both sides are so moisturized! And you were dropping gems throughout, I think I finally realized I'm low porosity for sure lol, or at least 70/30 if that's possible lol. Great video.
