Every time I think about using wireless CarPlay, I realize I prefer to have the phone charging while using CarPlay. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Nothing wrong there. For long road trips that’s me all the way. But for short drives I always leave my phone in the car charger. 😂

Thank for the great video! ... I was hoping to solve my problem with Ooono (HW speed cam notifier), but your advertised setting in notifications "show in carplay" is not available in my menu - iOS 17.4.1 iPhone 13 pro (Europe) 🙄

You said at the 10 minute mark you would link the wireless carplay adapter you like in the description, but unfortunately I can't find a link. I'm trying to find an adapter for my 2019 Acura MDX - would love a recommendation. The amazon reviews are mixed on most of these dongles.

My carplay on my honda doesn’t allow me to change size. I wish I could when I have it on split screen where I could make the map bigger. I just normally run the map in full screen. I don’t have those arrows above the time

I just wish it wasn’t so restrictive on apps. Particularly for me, not allowing KZbin. A. It doesn’t have to include video. There’s plenty of stuff I “watch” on KZbin that’s very audio based and I still like to listen to when I’m not watching. B. CarPlay isn’t JUST for the driver. It would be nice to be able to have video on it while parked or for passengers.

You can do that by running KZbin on your phone and the sound then goes out via CarPlay. Or buy of of those magic boxes.

I live in an area where cellular service is not reliable. What people like me need is an implementation of CarPlay that doesn’t require Siri. For example, I have over a dozen saved Apple Maps locations. With my Mazda’s Car Play implementation, I can’t view/select beyond the first few locations.

I have a Ram truck and had the same issue. Finally found a setting in the head unit to Auto Play when Bluetooth connection is present. I turned that off and now music only plays when I choose it

carplay is so buggy on my new F150. every time i get into the vehicle i have to hit the little arrows on the left twice to go full screen. It never stays that way. Also my Sirius radio never stays on either. I always listen to Howard Stern but every time i get in the vehicle there is no sound. I have to select another channel first and then go back to the howard stern channel to get sound. This happens 99% of the time.

Dongle for wireless car play was the best accessory I ever bought for my car/iphone. It connects within 15 seconds and just works. For long trips I plug my car in to charge, but for short trips I don’t bother. And I don’t even have to take my phone out of my purse for car play to work.

I found it too much of a distraction and now default to using the cars system. I also found it was often slow and buggy, so playing my music would often not work very well.
