Dehydrated tomatoes is an excellent way to store them to use in countless ways until next season. Dehydration takes up less space and is more cost effective than jarring or freezing, all those "extra" tomatoes that everyone is basically giving away to everyone at the end of the season, lol. Turning it into a power is brilliant and look at the amazing pasta you were able to make with it 🥰
@ourfreedomsong4 ай бұрын
Definitely a space saver!!! And yes Perfect for those "extra tomatoes" 😁

I so appreciate your 'preserving the harvest' videos & video portions. I also have a brand new Presto Precise Electric Pressure canner and I am waiting for tomato harvest to try it out!!! I have done water bath canning in the past, but never pressure canning. It is intimidating and sure helps to watch someone else try it first. The pasta from dried tomato powder looked so mouth watering GOOD! Your BABY Shiloh is growing up into such a sweet adorable young girl!!!!

Pasta looks great. I think you needed to let it rest a little longer before you ran it through the pasta machine, dust with machine with flour as well as the surface of the dough. Using things like tomato powder (Kale or spinach and beets also are great additions to your pasta) make the dough much stickier, so extra flour and extra resting time is usually necessary. (at least in my experience) Have fun with the pasta machine!

Love all of this Sandra! 😍 That kitchen aid attachment sounds amazing!!!! We have pears that I need to process soon! I'd love to know what recipe you use!
@sandracampbell72784 ай бұрын
@@ourfreedomsong I made up my recipes… I used the correct timing to water bath, though . I used less sugar because I don’t like too much sweetness and white sugar is an enemy. I put vanilla and cinnamon is some, others nothing extra. The method used was 1) packed the hot jars then added hot syrup which calls for water bathing for 35 minutes.. cooling down 5 minutes. 2) cooked the pears with sugar and about 3/4 cup water for about 2 hours, then add to hot jars and water bath for 10 minutes… cool down 5 minutes. I like both methods.
