In season nine of SHAMELESS, political fervor hits the South Side and the Gallaghers take justice into their own hands. Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) sets his sights on West Point and prepares himself for cadet life. Liam (Christian Isaiah) must develop a new skillset to survive outside of his cushy private school walls. Kevin (Steve Howey) and V (Shanola Hampton) V juggle the demands of raising the twins with running the Alibi as they attempt to transform the bar into a socially conscious business.

And here in this scene, we have a rare sighting of the sane Debs. The same sane Debs that we saw from season one to three. Especially season three, when she was trying so hard to be the mature one when everyone was taken by CPS. Debs and the clipboard. Debs telling nine-year old Carl that he needed to find work so he could chip in for the electric bill. That Debs, before she became infected with Baby-Mama Syndrome and lost her shit - erm - I mean, before the writers totally screwed up her character.

You're right, this has to be the first scene in 5 years that Debbie didn't annoy me with just her face appearing......hell she even looks young in the face like she was in Season 3...I think the writers fucked her over giving her this raping a guy shit and making her a teen mom.....If she was like this scene, she wouldn't be so hated...

Poundcake they didn’t just make her a teen mom, they had her lie and trick her bf into becoming a teen dad. It was incredibly scummy. Frank levels of scumbaggery. That was yet another violation. If a man poked holes in a condom or lied about having a vasectomy to get his gf pregnant against her will people would call that an assault.

The scenes when Fiona has the nervous breakdown/laugh-crying are my favorite because I find them so relatable. Like, I haven't been through the all the shit that she has but in my own way, I can get how she feels and it wrecks you to the point you have no idea how to react so you just laugh because your mind and your life is slowly imploding and no matter how hard you try, you can't stop or fix it.

Fiona is constantly getting herself into shit and having to get bailed out by others. Like when she bought the laundry matt place. If it wasn't for kev bringing in people who knew what they were doing then she would've given up and sold the place or it just would've been a shit show. She was always running around after the old lady to really get any work done. Before that lip and Ian was always picking up after her and saving her ass. And Ford told her not to get in on that old folks home cause he knew the guy and how he was but she thought she could handle it and she thinks she's a big time business woman now but truth is she just bit off more than she could chew and won't admit it. She always gets bailed out somehow and she knows it. When the kids was younger yea it was about them and keeping them safe but now she's fucking shit up. She even put their house on the line after getting it back. I'm sorry....after Carl got it back. Didn't discuss it with anyone at all cause she didn't think she had to. And she forgets that she's their guardian but stepped out. She got rights to be their guardian and now she's not even there. Lip is. She put all this on lip now.

I love the contrasts from last episode: Fiona lost her guy while Ian gained his true love back. I also love the endless twists and turns. It looked like Fiona was gonna be nouveau rich, but now she is utterly broke. No show does these dramatic lurches in fortune as well as Shameless. Nine seasons and we are still here until the last actor quits, ha.

Then suddenly, in season 3, Gallavich just slammed its way into my life and I became obsessed with them. But now that Gallavich got their endgame, I’m waiting for the same to happen with Fiona and Jimmy-Steve. Who do you think Lip should end up with? I’m thinking Mandy.

Mandy is exactly who I want Lip to end up with...No matter what her reputation was in that neighborhood, she always had a heart of gold and wanted the best for Lip.....getting him to go to college and hoping it would lead to them both getting out of the hood...Since they seem to possibly be passing out all of these gifts to the fans, I really wish they'd hear this last wish....Bring Mandy back..
