I own 2 of these and a xl flux. I also own a xmaxx, maxx, erevo 2.0 and lots of others. My savages are still my favorite go to trucks.

They are definitely good trucks. I think it just depends on the kind of bashing you do. For really hard for bashing they're certainly not the strongest anymore but they are fun

Always wanted one of these, I have pretty much every nitro savage model ever made lol and the 1/10 e-savage, which I love the twin mill electric motor set up on so cool. This little guy looks amazing, thanks for the video overview.

I like the bigger version of this savage flux there used to be one which is 1/10 or 1/8th scale and it was a beast only thing it had a bad shocks needed few tweeks to get it ready for bashing, I wonder with the new savage XL if it’s still fun as before.. thanks for the video though and nice little truck

I have the V2 flux and it's pretty good. Not quite up to the standards of modern bashers though. I would imagine the new Savage XL will be pretty much the same as the old ones because it is pretty much the same as the old ones The changes they made were mostly superficial

I want to see the upgrades you mention in this video at some point (as requested). Also, what is your go to (most fun) basher in your fleet, if you could only have one rig, what would it be?

Yeah I am still planning on making that upgrade video at some point though It's fairly low on the priority list at the moment. Right now my go to daily basher is a V1 4S Traxxas Maxx that has never been on the channel. I really like the V1 because the shorter chassis makes it better for doing jumps and stunts and other stupid things. The max platform is extremely durable and with modest upgrades is pretty close to bulletproof for the kind of bashing that I do.

Don't get me wrong that's an awesome car but the maxx just fits my bashing style the best. The TLR certainly handles better though.

Yeah it really is. 55 mph with a really inappropriately sized battery. I don't think 60 would be any issue whatsoever with the right battery

I'm actually going to be releasing a video with a bunch of upgrades very soon. Make sure you subscribe so you don't miss it :-) for the shocks you can just double them up. I'll show how to do that in the video as well

I don't think they've made any design changes but at least a slipper clutch seems to be better because I haven't had any issues with it whatsoever.

Other than the body and tires they made no changes to this car since it's inception many years ago. I think the very first ones had a castle ESC but other than that it's the same. Thanks for watching and if you aren't already subscribed a sub is appreciated :-)

Savage flux V2 or Reflex MT14 - which is better excluding cost into decision…?

I would say the reflex is the better vehicle. It's definitely more durable. That being said the flux XS is a bit bigger so I'm not sure they're exactly in direct competition with each other. Even considering that I think the reflex wins. Based on my testing I don't think the reflex really needs anything out of the box to be reliable but the flux XS at least needs things like the stock steering total links addressed as they pop off extremely easily.

MT-10 all day long. This is a fun car but it's not nearly as durable as the MT-10 and quite a bit smaller.

The ESC and motor are made by hobby Wing and the transmitter and receiver are tried and true very decent parts. Servo will probably need to be replaced but that's true for pretty much any RTR.

@@DoRC Thanks for your quick reaction I am looking for a fast rc car that won't break the bank. I can buy this model for 308,99 including a 5300mah 3s battery wich I think is a good deal. I've owned a traxxas rustler 2wd vxl but the esc died on me

I don't think you'll have any trouble with the ESC dying on this one. That being said if you're looking for a good reliable car that isn't too terribly expensive take a look at the team associated MT-10. It is a very durable fun fast car that's a little bit bigger than this one and shouldn't be much more money.

Got a few packs through it now with no slipper clutch issues. I don't even hear it when I'm running so it seems to be okay.
