Honestly i was surprised on how well i actually fought quan with sub zero, not an unwinnable mu but wasnt gonna give up. Need to prove sub can hang haha. And rumba is a great quan. Always a pleasure R1ps 🙂

A real sauce fiesta for today. Match1: Faysal with Shang one of the best things you can see still. I remember monzarag as a smoke mostly but his ermac wasnt bad. Faysal stealing ermac to build a ton of meter was criminal. Match2: Two ermacs in the same vid is already much more than usual and i love it. Hodie is THE Ermac and he gives Magictea a tough time. Magic uses all his combo mastery to crush Hodie as fast as possible but Hodie is sticking like crazy to his target and those comebacks man, even after his controller died man insane. Match3: Danajim is the best Geras ive seen since Sosed. We also got my favorite character from Bob who is a great player. Danajim knows how to unleash the monstrous dmg Geras has and also can squeeze the life out of his opponent with this non stop motaro pressure. This really did look like high tier stuff. Bob with Sonya tripped danajim many times but it was unfortunately for him not enough. Match4: Wow talk about a full distance galore. Destiny is using a nice comp and when it works it WORKS but he plays Tremor like in the older days using his ground pound for hard blockables and not much else. This coupled with insane screen pressure from rumba and the fact that destiny brainfarted one too many times missing many crucial confirms and punishes lost him the game. Match5: Nasty sticks with Tremor and it rewards him with some great damage and safe options. Bustman has a havik/jax sauce which nets him crazy dmg for havik standards. He displays great matchup knowledge and coupled by the fact nasty felt pressured at the end and made some mistakes it snatched him the win. Man Havik players are the best really. Match6: I still cringe when i see omni lao, it was good at start but was as boring then as it is now only now it is also not good, proven by this being the only game shizzles lost. Sonya is a way better option on all metrics and it shows quickly. Kelso with the darius pick showed us a bit of the good stuff. I still think darius is good now, many people just dont use his setup that well cause they misstime it, but the fact that he can take an entire bar from the opponent and put them in a very hard to block scenario plus adding good amounts of combo dmg is not to be underestimated. This is a super fun match and i implore you to watch it fully.

Hey Rips, I watched the COTR x Arena video over on Destroyer's channel and I noticed that over there during Fatal Blows, Brutalities etc the screen just kinda changes colour to make it less gory for KZbin... Have you thought about doing that instead of completely blurring because i feel like that would be a general improvement to the viewing experience (for example I can't see the lifebar during fatal blows, I don't get to organically see characters' brutalities... It generally takes me out of that true Mortal Kombat immersion) Hopefully you see this and give it some thought, assuming you haven't already.

Hey Simz. Unfortunately the rules for me as a content creator are way more strict than for destroyer or other "NA-BASED" channels, because I'm supervised by YT germany. I tried the color change several times back then and all vids were removed. I even had several phonecalls with the yt partner support because of it and they told me that blurring the entire screen is the ONLY option I have. Everything else will be deleted. I know that it's terrible for y'alls viewing experience & But i just dont have any other option. I'm sorry. I really wish that i could just colorswap like all other channels, because it's way easier in terms of editing too and would save me a lot of time.

So far, I think the meta is good, and with the expansion, it will get better. However, I think there needs to be more kameo variety (giving some characters new moves to make them as viable as Janet, Khameleon, etc.) and more moves for more main roster characters. I personally think Shang Tsung is one of, if not, the most boring character to watch. The man has one combo that every single player does (old man fireball juggle into syringe). Even with kameos, he's just boring to watch for me. I don't even see air combos from him. Yeah, he has morph combos, but I honestly think they did it way better in MK11. What they can do to inprove him is give him the morph move he used as the Invasions boss. I know this feels more of a rant about Shang Tsung, but I think more move/combo variety would be good for everyone. Either way, I pretty much watch R1Ps Arena because there is a lot of variety in its players and the way they use their characters (way more than the big competitions like Evo and Final Kombat). That and another youtuber, Devil, who uses Havik - their videos are great!

Can someone explain how Geras’ time stop works? I rewatched one combo and kept an eye on his meter/hourglass. First freeze took a bar. Second freeze took the hourglass charge. But then he froze the opponent 2 more times and it looked like it cost nothing. So if he can freeze without using a bar, are people still somehow limited in how many times he can use it?
