There is another way to go against Dr. Lecter that you didn't mention: becoming him, if only for a short time. Hannibal Lecter is a man that not only prides himself on his intellect, but on his veneer as a gentleman. It is said that you shouldn't lower yourself to the level of an antagonist, but sometimes you must adapt to a situation or die due to your ideals of being better than another. You would have to turn his guise of a gentleman against him to throw him off, such as politely refusing an an alcoholic drink that you are sure is drugged. If he keeps insisting on giving it to you, you tell him something like, as a proper host, it is rude to force something onto a guest who does not wish to partake in said offering. Then you would have to do your best to play into his ghastly game of gore and taboo eating habits, if only to get to a point to strike a killing blow. The trick would be to either lull him into a state of relaxation around you to allow you to strike a swift killing blow, or to allow him to become angry enough to try and strike you down first ( like giving unwanted advice on how to properly marinade a rack of baby-back ribs ), allowing you to defend yourself to your fullest capacity. It's a risky game of cat & mouse that can still get you killed, but it beats being either locked away for life for murdering an "innocent" man, or becoming his leftovers for the next few weeks.
