He respawns, but that counts as dying, you have a point with the rage ability so the best bet is surprise him with something he is very vulnerable to (explosives) I’m thinking getting a ton of explosives will work best, sticky bombs under his car would work 100%, homing missile etc. The most important part would be to not alert him in any way, that way he would not trigger his rage ability.

The actual story of what happened to Floyd and Debra is the implication that they killed each other rather than Trevor killing them. If you listen to the radio in the mission that takes place after the cutscene you can hear that there are a man and a woman dead on the ground with the man having bullet holes and the woman having stab wounds in them.

As thorough as it is, I think it was still a bit unjust to not mention his Rampage ability, which basically makes him even more unpredictable while it lasts, greatly reduces the damage he takes and he can one shot basically anybody with anything he uses, even his fists Aside from that, it's pretty thorough!
