For Colrane this was never an academic issue as your analysis it came naturally . like many non theoretical black artists of note . l think it is enjoyable for others to see how obvious things to those who dont find obvious can be objects of analysis. Africans have rhythm and they have an advantage of playing with it , till the end of times MELANIN ADVANTAGE

I do really think Coltrane did lots of analysis of all kinds of music, he practiced and checked music out from all over the world. He lived and created music. If you have talent it does not mean you become a master. To become a master you need to study your talent

Really start resolving to different tones is a great way to spice up the solos
