How does the Scripture define this? Who are the gentiles? How do the gentiles - who are no longer gentiles - become grafted into the commonwealth of Israel and part of Abrahams family but not Jews? So, as a western American with no clue if I have any Israeli blood in me, how does Paul say I am no longer a gentile but part of the commonwealth of Israel? I am not a Jew! To find the way to God, to understand the truth of God’s Word, and to receive the gift of eternal life, begin by repentance and faith through a prayer like this: “Dear God, I understand that I have broken Your Law and sinned against You. Please forgive my sins. Thank you that Jesus suffered and died on the cross in my place and rose again. I now place my trust in Him as my Savior and Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray. The Bible speaks plainly of false conversions many times, particularly in the Parable of the Sower (Matthew 13; Mark 4; Luke 8). Jesus referred to this category of people as “tares” among the wheat, “bad” fish among the good, “foolish virgins” among the wise, etc., and warned that on the Day of Judgment many would cry out, “Lord, Lord,” and He would say to them, “I do not know you . . . Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity” (Luke 13:27). The word “iniquity” means “lawlessness.” These are professing Christians who have no concern when they transgress God’s Law (the Ten Commandments). They don’t keep their word. They take things that belong to other people. They don’t guard their heart when it comes to lust. On Judgment Day, they will be found by God’s Law to be lying, thieving adulterers at heart. They will expect heaven, and instead find that they end up in hell. What a fearful thing to happen to anyone-let alone your beloved children. So make sure that you understand the true nature of sin, and that you yourself have repented and been genuinely saved. The double tragedy with false converts is that they are deceived into thinking that they are saved, when they aren’t. The Bible cautions us to “examine” ourselves to see if we are in the faith (2 Corinthians 13:5).

Firstly We have to totally take in what actually happened within the time of leaving Egypt during "unleaven bread"..... before we answer a short synopsis based on a biased commentry sitting in an easy chair who more than likely never faced an Egyptian guard or had to fight against a giant!! I'm not being nasty but we all have to walk in those shoes before we can have a voice....! Many of these Israelites and other mixes of people thought they were going back to Egypt after a few days of worship to God! Understanding that some of Joseph's seed were NEVER brought up to be HEBREW: or in slavery, and MOSES was ONLY known to most of them as the GENERAL AND PRINCE of Egypt who MURDERED a guard! WE also have the fact that at no time did they learn Warfare in Egypt .... This changed dramatically as their 1st battle was with the AMALEKS BEFORE they even got into their trible houses/clans at Sinai: and that battle was only won IF Moses kept his arms up ( holy spirit teaching) Understanding that it took 40 years BEFORE the Lord sent Moses back to Egypt as he had to be taught to BECOME what G*d needed in him as Moses didn't want that job!! After that battle where many of the company lost their lives against these VIOLENT WARRIORS of HUGE preportions that the Hebrews had never seen before...... AND after the Army of men were put into tribes/houses of 12 by Jacob adopting 2 grandsons of the BIRTHRIGHT ( G*d separating Levites for much PRIESTLY work as this STRONG VIOLENT seed were troublesome as prophesied by Jacob because of the rape of their sister) ..... the Lord only counted the men from the age of 20 upwards: no women or infirm or children from 19 downward were counted! The elders of the camps wanted MOSES to send out a reccy of spies (this was NOT intended by the Lord as HE knew the GIANTS were beyond the hills and a good war tactic is to never tell your troops the truth of what they face in battle!!) Joshua and Kaleb saw the same as the other spies but were with MOSES on this by saying G*d will go before us.... as it would be totally impossible without that help!! During the 40 years of wandering the Lord quickened the years by having the Israelites fight many battles where the old lost their lives and the young men from age of 20 brought in new seeds of that same ARMY without doubting that G*d will go before them!! Aaron died and Moses was taken away.... but Aaron's sons (Levites not allowed to fight), Joshua and Kaleb (restored as they were 40 years back went over the Jordan with a Huge following of incredible fighting HEROES as they had all been in battle with giants and cleared away lands for restoration of other nations such as Lot's Moabites!!

They are the law of God and all they do is show you what sin is, just as the other 600 + laws of Moses, except the law of God transcends as they bear the charactistics of God's righteousness. In Colossians 2:16-17, the apostle Paul declares, “Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.” Foreshadow of our High Priest and Lord as our Rest, whom many of Israel out of Egypt did not find in God, Read Hebrews chapters 1-4

@@MyRoBeRtBaKeR Good point. There are actually 12 or 13 "shall" and "shall not" in the 10 commandments, depending on if you look at Exodus or Deuteronomy. Only 9 of the 10 commandments are repeated in the New Testament because the sabbath is now the Lord's Day on Sunday..ie..the first day of the week. We can now eat port, circumcision is no longer required, and go to church on Sunday instead of Saturday, despite what the Seventh Day Adventist say. Collegians 2:16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.

Margaret Finn; No, Margaret, it is not a 'great insight' putting the ten commandments into the context of the ancient Israelites. The Mosaic Law was given to Israel and only to Israel. This is plainly stated in scripture, so 'insight' doesn't come into it. The Law does not provide freedom from bondage. Christ's death on the cross actually freed beievers from being in bondage to the Law. We are freed from bondage when we put our faith in Christ, not by trying to obey the Law. Please study the epistle to the Romans and you will see this.

@@johns1834 No John; the Law was given to the Jews only. They alone were given the dietary laws. And they alone were given the commandment concerning circumcision. Non-Jews were never given these commands, so not only are these things 'no longer required' - they never have been. The church does not have a weekly sabbath day. That, too, was given only to Israel. The Christian sabbath is that rest that we enjoy when we trust in Christ (Heb.4). The man on this video has completely failed to grasp the antithesis between Law and Grace. Lorenda what else escapes many who identify as Christians is the fact that Jesus taught his disciples and his fellow Jews- back during his life as a minister- theu his teachings and his example- how to live by, not just the 10 commandments, but also all of the over 600 laws found in the Pentateuch. Many of those listened to him were very well familiar with these laws, these instructions. Yet Jesus taught them the underlying spirit- or PURPOSE, behind these laws. Ex: at Mark 12: 28-34, a scribe asked Jesus what he thought was the greatest of the commandments. Quoting from the 10 Laws, (commandments) Jesus said that it was the first commandment- to love God. But then he also included the 2nd commandment- love one's neighbor as the 2nd greatest of all the commandments. Love of God and love for one's fellow man. For Jesus, BOTH were indespensable. He even explained that is you put into practice both- you would have fulfilled, not just all the of the ten commandments, but all of thenother 600 and so! To which the scribe agreed, adding- "These 2 laws combined are far greater than all these other ones". Jesus reply to him: "You, are not far from the kingdom of God". That scribe got it! Jesus literally took all those 600 + laws and compressed them into just those two. If we live a life of pleasing God by doing our best to follow his instructions, and do our best to cause no harm to our fellow man, and try to be generous in showing love and decency towards them, then in God's eyes- we are a living fulfillment of the purpose behind those divine instructions- closer to living a life as a human creation of God. And there is no greater sense of freedom- then to realize that you are pleasing to God, and he recognises that and is well pleased with your efforts!

I think this will give your video a fuller picture of where the Law also fits especially in the New Testament understanding as well.

Speaking as an atheist, I want to thank you for this. It does provide a useful insight into the commandments, their value in context and the limits of their applicability. As one who often makes the point to others that "context is everything", this linking of the commandments to context is refreshing. Of course it does nothing to change my mind about the existence of any god, but it does make sense of the purpose of the scripture, and makes me far more sympathetic towards them in their context. So again, thank you.

Dang actually thinking about it I always thought that the 10 commandments were just a list of do's and don'ts and were just rules but that has changed, and they really do teach how to live free. Following them allow you to live free from the world and your saving yourself from the bondage of the consequences of sin.

I agree and I firmly believe our collective disregard for obedience to God's laws is in direct relation to all or almost all of our societal problems, including homelessness and so called global warming. Doesn't it say if His People will obey He will send His Blessings upon them? Wouldn't that include nice weather?

The commandments were n It given to the Jews ( tribe of Yahuda, a misnomer for the ages) but to the Hebrew Israelites, the tribes of the sons of Jacob ( Ya'cobo). We need to re-think Hebrew Roots and not bring in Judaism. It has been corrupted by the Talmudic rabbinic laws and stiff necked blind people, who once were set apart, not chosen, but who's desire to control and corrupt the world with usery interest, fiat money and idol worship.

As a Jewish Believer I have always said that Jews and African Americans oughta stick together. We have slavery of our people in common. When you are called a derogatory name we understand that too because we've been called things like Dirty Jew. At least for me it might as well have been the equivalent of wearing a yellow star for Jude/Jew. The kids at school called me that because they knew we didn't observe any man made holidays. It was very awkward. Lord Bless you wether brother or sister. I say Shalom Aleichem Mishpocah.

Shalom, the Torah literally means instruction the plural is torot meaning instructions/teachings, not law as it has been falsely and incorrectly taught. The Torah "instruction/teaching" for living doing what is right in the sight of our Elohim, righteousness or righteous living. We are commanded to shema hear and obey, to do all that Mosheh (Moses) taught us as he received those instructions in many many torah's over the 40 years in the wilderness. Most think that Mosheh received the entire Torah at Mt.Sinai, but that is not true, the multitude of torah's Mosheh received and taught us were later all sown together, and later yet compiled into scrolls and later into the 5 books of the Torah as we know them today. We are commanded to be sanctified "set apart" (holy), and Yeshua told us without set apartness no one will see YaHuWaH Elohim. How are we sanctified "set apart", made holy?? By "shema" hearing with the intent of our heart to obey the Torah. It has been falsely and incorrectly taught that Yeshua's blood is some kind of magical potion, a microwave dinner, push the right button or find the right equation, and wham "you're saved", this has deceived the majority just as Yeshua said would happen!! There MUST be 2 or 3 or more witnesses to establish a matter as a fact, no matter is concluded based on 1 witness...in other words Yeshua's blood atonement is just one witness, as Sha'ul (Paul) said walk out your redemption with fear and trembling to the end, he who endures to the end shall be saved...redemption is the first step in a process as was with Yisra'el coming out of Mitzrayim (Egypt), the blood of the lamb on the door posts and over the lintel (Yeshua), 7 months later we received the 10 matters (usually incorrectly translated as "10 commandments"). Inside the Torah are commands, laws and right rulings. Instructions for how to live righteously before our loving Elohim, to receive the life giving power of Elohim, the tree of life IS the Torah, the tree of life is light, the tree of life is Yeshua, Yeshua is the Torah made flesh Who dwelt among us. We were NEVER EVER forbidden to eat the tree of life the Torah, which is wisdom to those who find her, the Torah is our mother, Elohim YaHuWaH is our Father, one of the 10 matters, honor your father and your mother (YaHuWaH and the Torah)...we were only forbidden to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil...evil is disobedience of the Torah. Hasatan is the one who deceived mankind again, and caused mankind to fall over and over by convincing the world to forbid mankind from eating (hearing with the intent of our hearts to obey) from the Torah which is the source of life, wisdom and knowledge, and te fear of YaHuWaH. Why the fear of YaHuWaH? If they who heard the voice of YaHuWaH, and saw His esteem, and His provision for 40 years, and the miracles and the strength of His right hand and outstretched arm, and died in their sins in the wilderness, how much more should we fear YaHuWaH Elohim in the condition we are living in? Many many trample the blood of Yeshua under their feet, in rebellion to the Torah which Mosheh received from Yeshua YaHuWaH Elohim in the flesh. Sanctification is the 2nd step, becoming set apart by hearing learning and obeying the Torah, without whcih no one will see Elohim. The 3rd and final step is when Yeshua returns and receives us as his bride in the marriage ceremony, up to this point we have only been betrothed (engaged), which is what Mt.Sinai was all about betrothal, will you obey My Torah? The wedding marriage feast is the final step to being saved. No one is saved until Yeshua makes them His bride, He is the only One worthy to open the book of life to see if our name is still written in it, or has it been blotted out as they were in the wilderness... 2 or 3 or more witnesses to establish a matter as a fact.... 1) the blood of Yeshua 2) our obedience of the Torah because we LOVE Him so much we want to be just like Him (remember at this point we have already been redeemed out of Mitzrayim (Egypt the world) 3) the testimony of our mouth (out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks
@brianmann47052 жыл бұрын
the wilderness journey is the bride preparing for her future wedding, getting herself cleaned up, hair done, make-up, perfect white dress with no spots or blemishes, keeping herself wholly for her future husband, checking every detail over and over again to be sure everything is absolutely perfect for the wedding and to please her fiance... will Yeshua YaHuWaH Elohim in the flesh be pleased with what has taken place with His creation mankind, will Yeshua be pleased that mankind divided and made 2 sets of houses and 2 sets of instructions depending on whether your a gentile or a jew, will Yeshua be well pleased that you rebelled against His Torah which He gave to Mosheh and trampled His blood under foot as worthless in doing so? Will Yeshua be well pleased with the teachings that are contrary to His Torah and His redemptive blood? Will Yeshua be well pleased that pagan gentiles figure salvation came by them, and that they hold the keys to all truth over and against us who are native born? Will Yeshua look into your heart the seat of thoughts, and your kindneys the seat of your emotions and find them truly washed by the washing of the water of His Word (word is Torah), and cleansed by His shed blood? Have we truly repented for our transgressions, and our sins? To truly repent means, to turn back to the Torah, as we proclaim have mercy upon me a sinner worthy of the death penalty!

I remember growing up hearing those who complained that the 10 Commandments, being a list of "thou shalt nots" were so negative and restricting. Being confused by how anything of God's could be so described, I asked questions. An elder explained to me how freeing the Commandments were, not restricting. As a way to explain he said imagine there was a Commandment that said "thou shalt not use the red door." Sounds like a restriction, right? Now imagine it read "thou shalt use only the red door." The implication being that in the first case God says no to the red door but leaves us infinite choice among all the other doors out there. The second version in fact restricts us from the great variety of doors available. In other words, heed God's Commandments, which are few, and He provides us with so much possibility and opportunity as His people.

Amen.” If you have repented and trusted in Jesus, then your sins are forgiven and you can now partake in the blessings of “the New Covenant.”

Jesus warned, “Unless you repent, you will perish” (Luke 13:3). Repentance is more than feeling sorry for your sin. Of course, you should feel sorry for your sins; you have done wrong. The question is, are you willing to turn from your sins and turn toward God, to place your faith in Christ and surrender your life to Him today?

This is very eye opening to me. I grew up in the church and I went away back and forth because I was gay and I had dreams of the devil and angels and "deities" and I was confused because I didn't fully know what I was doing. I knew that in God was freedom but I always went back to my old ways because I wanted power and the gifts I was given. But after watching this video I really understand the reasons why I need to give those things up because they are a reminder of what being in slavery and bondage is about and I'm glad to be able to watch this video and have new eyes on this subject. I've been a believer for over a couple years now since I renounced the ways of the past but there's still a few things I still need to let go but now watching this video really opened my eyes and I'm a stronger believer because of it. Thank you so much and God bless you!

For as much compassion as many of you have in listening to this heart touching message. About a people enslaved for 400 years. The difficulties that these Hebrew people had in thinking after coming out of slavery. The adjustments in living free after generations of being enslaved. The time it has taken them to change that mindset. Remember also here in America. There were people who were enslaved for 400 years just the same before their freedom. With still another 100 years afterward of Jim Crow, separate, but not equal and even today not given the benefits of compassion in Health Care, in Police treatment, and in voting rights. So just remember to extend God's Love and compassion beyond the past in remembrance and bring that love into today. For they are God's people just the same. Some adjustments take time. How well do you think your family would have done had they lived this experience.

I would say to your comment-Listen to Brandon’s message again-except this time watch from the perspective of those who have been and are still enslaved in this the world for the past 2000 years -and notice the answers given for the Israelites - then pray this over every person who has been and are to this day -still enslaved in this fallen world in which we live. Then watch and see what OUR GOD can do for them. Where the Spirit of the LORD is -there is freedom! Luke 4:18 tells us JESUS came to set us free! 🙌🏼🕊🐑✝️--James 5:16 says the prayers of the righteous man has great power to prevail! 🔥🔥🔥

Psalm 119:151 Thou art near, O LORD; and all thy commandments are truth. Jesus and The Father are one. We must obey God in order to enter in. God is both The Father and The Son. Wait, sorry just saw this feed - but we aren't under the Law? Which law? the observance of sacrifices law? The pilgrimage to Jerusalem law? Or the law that says don't kill, adulter or steal from your neighbour, it also says, you know, treat people and our Lord lovingly well. Matt 5:18 - For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. You are still 'under' God's Commandments, don't get caught up on false security, that'll take your soul Rev 14:12 - Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. Think it through my friend, we are under both.
@bogusphone80002 жыл бұрын
The purpose of the 10 Commandments was to demonstrate the need for a Savior. Galations 3:24,25 - Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. In Romans 7 we are taught that the law exposes our guilt for the purpose of turning to Christ.

I am a Seventh Day Adventist. Unfortunately this denomination can be misunderstood as being legalistic, and many Adventists themselves fall into this trap. We strongly believe in following all of the commandments and teachings of the bible not because we are afraid of breaking God's law, but because we are blessed in doing so.
@AliciaGuitar2 жыл бұрын
I looked into SDA and could not get into believing Ellen White is a prophet and treat her writings as scripture, but other then that your church is not much different than mine. We have the same issue of being accused of legalism and judaising. Its a clever argument because one cannot prove thier intentions... you get dismissed by people who believe they can read your mind 🙄 I try my best to follow His commandments because i love Him and want to make Him happy. His commandments are for MY benefit and well-being also, not random "simon says" stuff just to have us jumping.
@kimturner19632 жыл бұрын
@@AliciaGuitar following the commandments can be challenging, but will ultimately make us happier, more fulfilled beings. Just wanted to clarify about how the views Ellen G. White. Some Adventists place Ellen G. White's writings on the same level as scripture, however they are misrepresenting the stance of the church. We do not believe her writings to be equal to scripture. Nowhere in the 28 Seventh Day Adventist doctrines is she even mentioned. You do not have to believe in her writings to be an Adventist. Most Adventists do believe she was gifted with prophecy and will frequently quote her and use her writings in the church. Personally I find her writings helpful, but do not base my beliefs off of them. The bible is the basis of my beliefs, but I like to consider others' perspectives, including Brandon Robbins.

Paul’s said on multiple occasions that his is “slave to the sin”. “Slave” is the keyword here. The Jews were slaves to “the power of Egypt”, and we are slaves to “the power of sin”. God saved the Jews from their (physical) slavery and Christ’s death saved us from the mental disease which is sin.

We are saved by Grace, not by worshipping on Saturdays... HOWEVER... Sunday was the day to worship Apollo the Sun-god. If our relationship with Christ is like a marriage, worshipping him on Apollo's day is like honoring your spouse on your mistresses' day so her family can feel welcome as well. It was an attempt to sneak Roman religion into Christianity to make it more palatable for the Romans who couldnt turn from thier pagan ways, and to pit them against the Jews... divide and conquer. I praise God that since the reformation of Israel many Jews and Christians are coming back to thier roots and repairing our relationships with each other. Both sides are waking up and turning to God. Its beautiful!

@@AliciaGuitar Christian worship on Sunday because Jesus was risen on sunday. When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him. And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb (Mk. 16:1-2). But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came unto the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared (Lk. 24:1). Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb (Jn. 20.1). Not because of any sun God dear. What you believe matter.
