And, finally, your recomendation is the same of all English teachers, off course: practice, practice and, eventually, a little more of practice.

I'm an intetmediate learner. I 'm seeking each word in Wordreference, on the internet, and I always copy a sentence I choose to have a context. Then, I write the word on a flash cardboard. One side for english and the other side is used for french. I use those cards everywhere. On the tramway or when I'm waiting for the doctor. To me, sentences are useful to memorise easily. Thanks a lot ! 😊

Hello Jack. It's a pleasure to hear your beautiful British accent. I think it's much funnier to learn English by picking up sentences than learning grammar. And, in addition, it's easier to express sentences already assimilated from our mouths than to search and make up our words when we want to talk. However, I think grammar is indispensable to express ourselves. We have to learn both of them, in my opinion . Thanks for your help.

That is powerful indeed, for beginners who still struggle with grammar patterns. But for more advanced students, after getting used to the grammar, you don't really need to think about it. You just know how it works, and when you learn a new word, you should know what type of speech it is. Once you know that, it's very simple to use it in the right context and form a flawless sentence with it.

it is a shock for me after wathcing this video... I relate a lot to this. it always happens to me when I try to speak or trying to build a sentence. I'm always not quite sure about the rule or was a sentence gramatically correct or not. I think on the listening or reading part, I am not getting much trouble. but when it comes to speak or to build sentence everything go worse. Thank you for recommendation. I'm gonna try this method. Input a lot of sentences and apply to build a sentences.

Hello, ! I´m new here. This video is excellent. I completely agree with you. Adults learn in the same way as children, the problem is that we are afraid of making mistakes and we usually think about the importance of grammar to sound more fluently. On the other hand, chidren don´t think so. At least that is what I think. Spanish Language is my mother tongue, I´m from Argentina.

Hi, Jack! Thank you for sharing the interesting learning resource. There are a lot of methods of teaching and learning languages and before your video, I have thought, that the most important part of becoming good at speaking is practice. Moreover, according to some resources, the practical part should be at least 2/3 of all learning time. And that truth for building up distinct practical skills, and I am not very certain about language learning. What's your point on that? Thanks again for doing your job!

Getting a lot of input or exposure to the language your are learning is surely essential, but I doubt that adult learners can learn a foreign language to a level that is equal to their native tongue. Of course, we don't need to put too much stress on ourselves and try to speak a foreign language perfectly well. Language learning is a never-ending process, and there's always room for improvement, whether it's your first language or second language.
