Crush's later gimmick that you forgot was biker gang Crush. He was an original member of the Nation of Domination, but then after he got kicked out he formed the biker gang stable Deciples of Apocalypse. Through all his gimmick changes, he always kept the name Crush in WWF. I can't remember if he was part of the 2001 invasion angle. If so, he likely went by his real name, Bryan Adams since that's what he went by in WCW.

So, I get the feelings on Jeff Jarrett. I was the same way. Then, he came to my hometown and I was able to work with him in a promo for the local show. He's a really good guy and took a lot of time to sit and chat with us about the business. It totally changed my views on him from there. Great rumble, Ricky!

I always thought Jeff Jarret was a dollar store Ric Flair. But his late wcw and early tna stuff I enjoyed. I feel for the guy after hearing his story about Owen Hart. They were really good friends and the night Owen fell, he had to go out and have a match, passing his friend Owen as he was being stretchered out. Doing a match, not knowing what kind of condition your friend is in and the last time you saw him, his body was most likely lifeless. That would haunt me for life 💀

Totally agree. I hated the double j character and his stupid looking attire. Always ending with his “that’s J E double F J A double R E double T”. He was much better once he teamed with Owen and then his wcw afterwards with the slap nuts etc.

The Bastion Story: As you mentioned, Bret was nursing a bad (kayfabe) injury from his match with Owen. They had Bastion not come out at 25 to create the illusion that 25 was Bret's spot and his injury was too bad to compete. The commentary team were all speculating that was what happened ... then Bret came out and we were informed that B.B. had food poisoning.

Macho Man and Crush were the first Pro Wrestlers to participate in the very first Falls Count Anywhere Match at WrestleMania X which Macho Man won he hooked crush to some kind of cable raised him up and headed back to the Ring. The Announcer started the countdown. Crush has 60 seconds to return to the Ring, 30 seconds, 20 seconds, 15 seconds 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 ding ding ding. LOVED IT! Bart Gunn getting beat by Butter Bean was punishment Ricky for winning the brawl for all. They wanted Dr. Death Steve Williams to win to because they thought he was legit tough guy. The brawl for all was going to be a springboard to make him a main eventer.

Was just going to say this. And Bart would have fared better against Butterbean had he done what he did during the Brawl For All, just swing and fight like it's a bar fight. Instead he tried to box with him. Stupid idea. I liked Bart Gunn and was legit happy for him to win that tournament. He just happened to take out Jim Ross' horse in the fights and was punished for it.

I loved Jeff Jarrett early in his career in the CWA and AWA. He wrestled like a lightweight. There should be early footage of him on KZbin. As for his WWF and WCW run, I was just a very casual fan at this time, so I didn't see enough but what I did, I didn't like except for his selling, he was a great seller. I think during this time, Ray Apollo was Doink. Lombardi played him on house shows IIRC. Best, of course, was Tony Bourne as evil Doink, he even learned how to make balloon animals. I am with you, clowns are freaky, don't wanna be near them. Eliminating Owen and Savage and Bam Bam back to back to back to leave in Doink,Mabel and Sparky Plugg? Who is the Road Agent? The brawl for all was the worst thing to happen to Bart. The winner of that was going to get a major push because they assumed Dr. Death Steve Williams was going to win. That brawl killed Dr. Death's push and crushed Bart's hopes of ever getting a push in the future. Thank you Vince Russo for that one.

I am pretty sure Charles Wright participated in RRs under more identities than any other wrestler: Papa Shango - Kama, the Supreme Fighting Machine - Kama Mustafa when he was a member of the Nation of Domination - The Godfather - The Goodfather when he was part of Right to Censor. Crush was first in Demolition (whenever I played WWF WrestleFest, I was always Demolition when I did the tag team). Then he was Hawaiian surfer dude, then turned heel (what you’re seeing here is Million Dollar Corporation Crush), then Nation of Domination. After that, when Owen went off on his own and the NOD kicked out Crush and Savio (thereby starting the “gang wars” part of the early Attitude Era), he was the leader of the Disciples of Apocalypse with Chainz (Brian Lee), Skull and 8 Ball (Ron and Don Harris). Then he went to WCW and wrestled under his real name Brian Adams. #RIPCrush

When I was little,I collected the wrestling dolls. The Big LJN ones. Ok so I got a perfect score on the 2nd grade English Final to go to 3rd grade. My Parents got me a Mr Wonderful doll. I was playing with it and My Mom called me down for something. I went back up to my room and it was gone? I tore my room apart,never found it. This bothered me for YEARS. That Steiner suplex is called the Steiner Screwdriver and he used it every once and awhile as a finish. I think he mostly used it in Japan. You should look up some videos of it, one of the best moves ever!

In which case, this episode marks a repeat of the 1994 Royal Rumble match, a match that ended with two winners after simultaneously eliminating each other. At that time, this victory would hold merit for at least ‘one’ winner but the attempt for the company to push the ‘other’ winner, who they wanted to be the next Hulk Hogan… the fans just weren’t buying it and eventually that star would fade to obscurity. And because the 2K games don’t often end the royal rumble with two winners, ultimately only ‘one’ man was gaining a spot into the champion’s rumble. On this rare occasion, lightning would strike twice… for ‘one’ superstar. Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart, one of the co-winners of the 94 rumble and the one star who would ‘win’ the WWF World Heavyweight Championship after defeating the late Yokozuna. Over the years, Bret was considered ‘The Best There Is, the Best There Was, and the Best There Ever Will be’ although even Ricky himself would comment how Bret’s title defenses were… boring. When it comes to these royal rumble matches, Bret wouldn’t ‘always’ come out on top and he’d barely even come close to obtaining a spot in the champion’s rumble at all. But this season marked an opportunity for Bret Hart to prove himself as a capable competitor as much as the other competitors who’ve already placed a spot in the finale. Now whether Bret Hart can pull off the biggest win of the season will depend on how crafty of a veteran he truly is. But who was my MVP of the ‘94 rumble? Let’s get down to the numbers: Of the thirty superstars involved in this match, FIFTEEN competitors secured the most eliminations (Practically half the roster). The highest count reached up to ‘4’ eliminations, which is at least three points higher than the average ‘1’ elimination. I give the Golden MVP Award for ‘coolest’ performance to: Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart This match has seen a wave of improvement from most of the competitors who appeared in this match before, not only based off on the more eliminations they had overall but ultimately how they placed (Although some actually performed ‘worse’ than their previous run). For me, while not having the longest run overall in this match, Bret Hart was not only able to repeat his victory ‘twice’ but was the sole competitor to procure the most eliminations. When it was going to come down between who has it better, Hart or Luger, many fans will ultimately say that Hart was ‘always’ going to be the man to pull it off. Though I will at least send a slight shoutout to ‘Bastion Booger’, who was unable to compete in the actual rumble for several reasons. He was ‘never’ going to win this rumble nor was he ever a favorite (In fact, the use of the gimmick was just ‘all wrong’), but the fact that this simulation would give him a chance to prove something to the fans at least demonstrated a ‘glimmer’ of possibility as to how far he’d go. The Dull Participation Medal for the ‘lamest’ performance goes to: Bob Backlund I’ve probably insulted a billion fans considering this man’s legacy in the business. There’s no denying that Backlund was a great competitor, having won many titles. But was there ever really a ‘chance’ that he was ever going to win a match as big as the rumble? He barely squeezed in any time during Raw’s 15 Year Battle Royal (Which was won by a legend who came in at the last minute). Honestly, compared to everyone else’s performances, there was no other way to determine who was getting the medal and unfortunately… Backlund was the most obvious pick based on statistics. Bret Hart’s climb this season continues as he prepares to take part in the champion’s rumble. As a result of this run of the rumble, many questions remain: Will we see another repeat of a previous rumble this season? Can we expect another member of the Hart family to enter the finale? Is there any hope for Luger to prove he truly could’ve lived up to his potential? And the biggest question of them all: Who’s next?

Wow, Bam Bam didn't last long in this one. In the real version he lasts the longest, over 30 minutes. Odd for a huge man like he was. I think after #23, only Mabel is one from earlier in the match that wasn't there later. So everything from there kinda plays out like the actual one ('cept for Bastion Booger competing) Vince says Booger got a bit "sick" heh heh. Mabel wasn't King at this point (another year 1/2 1995 KOTR), but who's counting? 😉
