My favorite ship; they went back out in a terrible storm to look for the ‘Fitz. Rest easy, hope to see you come back again 🔔

Sure hope the rumors are just that. She's an American icon. She left loud and proud. Thank you Paul.

the extended layup rumor is pretty strong, one thing I have noticed in this hobby, things change fast.

IF, SHE'S BEING RETIRED OR SOMETHING ELSE, I ALSO AGREE WITH YOUR COMMENT. THE ARTHUR M ANDERSON IS A FLOATING MUSEUM 2:49. 2:52

I don't believe its being retired, just like back in 2019, layed up for a while.

Rumors on other channels have it that the Philip R. Clarke is also headed for long-term layup. Downturn in cargo demand expected? I think the Clarke only came out of layup last time because of the issues the Presque Isle had with her engines... A season ago, the Stewart J. Cort (2023-2024) didn't get out until September, so I'm not going to panic about it at this point.

They're taking more of a "wait and see" approach with the Anderson and seeing if they can do without her for a season?
@PaulScinocca

That may be, it could be. It seems a lot changes quickly in the shipping industry. Let's wait and see!

The Arthur M Anderson is still profitable to operate. I believe she will sale again perhaps with new ownership...⚓

It is not being scrapped, just not scheduled for fit out this season, for now.

Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but both the Anderson and Clarke still have steam turbine engines. I wonder if they're not as efficient as the rest of the fleet.
@PaulScinocca
@PaulScinocca 4 күн бұрын
My guess it has to do with the limestone contracts. Not efficient to have a ship carrying cargo only 1 part of the trip. Just a guess.

Is she being retired or something? If so I hope she becomes a museum.

I don't think retired, just a layup for a while. Time will tell.
