It was narrated from Jarir bin ‘Abdullah that The Prophet ﷺ said: “Fasting three days of each month is fasting for a lifetime, and the white days ( bright days) are the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth.” (Sunan an-Nasa’i) Abdullah bin ‘Amr bin Al-‘As reported that The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “Observing Saum (fasting) on three days of every month is equivalent to a full month’s fasting.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

Virtues of fasting on Mondays and Thursdays Abu Qatadah al-Ansari narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was asked about fasting on Mondays. He ﷺ said: “On that day I was born, and on it the Revelation came to me.” (Narrated by Muslim, 1162) ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Prophet ﷺ (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was keen to fast on Mondays and Thursdays. (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 745; al-Nasai, 2361; Ibn Majah, 1739; classed as saheeh by al-Albani in Saheeh al-Targheeb, 1044) Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Deeds are shown (to Allah) on Mondays and Thursdays, and I like my deeds to be shown when I am fasting.” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 747; classed as saheeh by al-Albani in Saheeh al-Targheeb, 1041)
