Thanks for this. My effort at a roof will work but if I'd seen your video I would have done it better.

Excellent Presentation, thank you for sharing! Can you please tell me how we would place a single-pitched roof on wooden walls at 3 of its points and the fourth one made of bricks, but none of the sides have a 90 degree angle? I have made a rough drawing in sketchup if you want to study it better! I would be happy to learn more.

Hi, thanks for watching the video and reaching out. I think I would need to see a drawing of the roof you want to build before I could give you any advice. Feel free to send me a sketch and I'd be happy to take a look.

Awesome tutorial mate. Id like to built a frame exactly the same as this, and the same size, and roof it, using recycled hardwood with no walls (for a shaded area down the backyard). what bracing do need to add.? Thanks
@GreysandAlex8 сағат бұрын
Hey Martin, Im happy to hear you liked the tutorial! Thats cool you are building a similar roof frame from recycled materials! The bracing should go over the rafters, from the ridge to the beam at the bottom at around a 45 degree angle for best strength. Do a couple in a cross pattern. Ive added link below with an image. Good luck with the project and let me know how you go! emedia.rmit.edu.au/dlsweb/Toolbox/buildright/content/bcgbc4010a/12_roof_systems/05_roof_trusses_bracing/page_004.htm

Great work, you mentioned about speedbrace! Doesn’t it get installed under roof purlins or over?
@GreysandAlex9 ай бұрын
Thanks! Speed brace goes over the rafters. I didn’t use any on the roof as it’s only a small garden pergola with aviary wire bracing it.
