I can’t understand why thousands of ill-mannered, unattractive and shabbily dressed individuals need to be photographed for posterity next to a beautiful horse and immaculately turned out soldier. They don’t even acknowledge the soldier as a fellow human being. Have they no manners, shame or self-respect?

At least for my stupid fellow Americans, I think they think they're at Disney World, taking photos with Disney characters. If they saw these guards in their camouflage and not their immaculate dress uniforms, they might, might, realize these are real soldiers serving their country. I just know they're an embarrassment to the rest of us.😢

I just can't understand what compels people to want to grab the reins. What are they going to do when the horse begins to follow their lead? Naive humans have no idea that they have just taken control of a 1000 pound animal that could crush them. HANDS OFF THE REINS!!!!

@@georgebarnes8163 there doesn't seem to be any clear instructions for the tourists or the British public of what is expected of them, so naturally they think that they can do anything permissable. One guard is ok with them touching the horses other guards however have very different views on the matter obviously depending on his experience with the public hang on to the reins and in some cases yobs thinking it's amusing to act like twats putting not only themselves but the general public - horse and guard in a precarious situation. There needs to be an updated statement of what is acceptable behaviour surrounding these guards and horses. Whether it be graphic signs or maybe large screen depicting the right and wrong way in dealing with each situation. If people can't read the printed signs, maybe they'll take better notice of it being displayed on screen or graphically displayed. Either way, something has to be done before there is a tragic accident and I don't wish that to be on the guards conscious or the horses demise.

Sure they do bc there are so many rude & ignorant people all over the World. I didn’t realize it til I began watching the guards & horses. Every day is different, as well as the horse & people. Most horses like women & children & they nuzzle a bit, but as a whole, they put up w a lot of constant touching & noise. Guards & horses are well trained. I did enjoy the one horse that had reached his limit. He stood on the foot of a woman leaning her weight into him, clamped onto another woman & then a teenagers’ hands when they kept putting them on his mouth at separate times, also yanked the knit hat off another’s head & later grabbed a woman’s pony tail & yanked it hard. Needless to say, they were all surprised, as well as the onlookers, but we who have watched so many times & see what the guards & horses have to deal with, cheered at his success!🤗
