Hi Y'all, anybody know about current restrictions on ordering 2024 4500/5500. I sat with my local dealer and built the order for a 4500 60 C&C. For the last couple of weeks they've been saying they can't place the order due to restrictions but they can't tell me why. I submitted a request to customer service as well & await a response. I am looking into this type of truck to haul a Jayco North Point 390CKDS 44FT long and the fully loaded weight of 18,350 pounds. I will be living full time in the fifth wheel so I am just wondering if this truck would be a good choice for hauling this setup. The only difference is I want a CM SK SKIRTED FLAT BED with dual fuel fills and a 110 gallon ATTA FUEL TANK. Would you recommend a 60” CA or 84”CA

35,150 pounds max towing. It's got a 4.88 rear differential so the engine horsepower and torque is actually less than the stats were on my 2017 ram 3500 with th 5500 coming at 600 hp and 800 torque. But this theoretically allows for longevity of the engine even more. As it has to work less hard to get near the HO 3500 engine max towing number of 37,500. Aisin Transmission has 2 overdrive gears for 5th and 6th being. 77 and .63 ratio respectively. Allowing the engine to run at lowe rpm at the two top gears allowing for better fuel efficiency and more resilience for long heavy towing.

buy the truck as a cab and chassis and have it outfitted yourself.......probably get it to 80-90k, if this is your business and you want a clean start with 0 miles you gonna pay something.
