Great video! Enough to prove durability without intentionally destroying the vehicle. You do this well. As end users we make mistakes and many of us push them beyond their intended use. This is needed to help in buying decisions. One question. I noticed in the early part of the video, as the car landed you were still accelerating or engaging the power train. I’m still learning. My theory on damage from landings has mostly been from observation of numerous videos and a few rough landing I have experienced. What I observed causing damage is: 1. Point of impact and angle of impact. Landing on one wheel, at an angle where there is no place for the impact force to transfer. 2. Landing with a wheel wedged in rock or against a curb. 3. Landing with the power train engaged. (I’m I wrong about this one? I’ve based this on videos watch of some nasty landings that end with no damage, while others that I thought would be minimal suspension damage having a bent drive shaft and control arms ripped loose. The difference I noticed was landing while still accelerating. Thank in advance.

Yes, you should always come off the throttle when you land as it’s the easiest way to destroy the drivetrain. Hard sometimes to try and control a landing and also come off the throttle at the right time.

Thank you for taking time to respond. I’m still learning every time I am blessed to drive. It definitely helps for me to clearly understand theses precautions. I understand as we all will land powered or worse, with the wheels fully turned at times. Funny response when I handed my remote to friend who owns a much more expensive short course trucks. After the initial criticisms of it’s short comings, he kept driving and kept driving it. Asked for another battery and started talking about how fast and stable it handled, undoing some of his earlier criticisms. After finishing off the second pack he said, I’m going to see if “his brand” has some like this. Lol.

Bad landings are cringe worthy. This buggy seems more "technical" to drive. Land your jumps, and its awesome! Miss them a bit, and it can be grass and it'll still end your fun moment...Great jumping, it is soo much fun to rip that buggy around! Love mine!! Since my 144001 continuously loses screws in the knuckles and bends the front drive shafts, it's safe to assume that this one will too. I love the color though but can't justify another buggy right now! Can't believe you managed to take a chunk out of those spoilers, they seemed to be the most bulletproof part of the 144001.

Wltoys 144001 and 12019 are both really awesome and outstanding buggys for their price! I think you can't beat that! And with the proper ESC motor, battery and wheel combo you can get this to run over 100Mph if you put money into it! But if you put a nice decent ESC and brushless motor with a 3S battery you can get as fast as 96Km/h!

Do these suffer with the same issues as the 144001, as in overfilled shocks, no grease in the diffs, etc? I put 1000cst oil in the rear shocks on mine, and that helped massively with the slap from hard landings. I've also dropped the ride height, which takes pressure off the drive shafts, and seems to stop the bending of the shock shafts. Nice little buggy though.

I’m not expert, just ordered this car but been watching a lot of videos that way the oil shocks tend to come overfilled. The way yours lands and bounces looks like the might need a bit of oil taking out.

Not...straight out the box. But It's a good idea to check the diffs on these.

I have a 12428. It’s fun. I mostly let my grand kids run it so they don’t damage my 144001. It’s not as fast or maneuverable as the 144001. It’s slightly top heavy. Also, put a heat sink on the motor or don’t use a higher mAh battery as after 10 minutes it needs to cool. If you want to climb up a hillside and run on a road, it’s great. But the 144001 has a lot of power, low center of gravity and is amazing on asphalt, concrete, dirt or fine gravel. I run it in my lawn if it’s cut short.

My differential gears stripped once after my grandson was doing high speed runs across the parking lot, then power breaking while sliding it 180 degrees and full throttle back down the parking lot. I didn’t see what he was doing until it was too late. I also had to rebuild the differential on my 12428 because the screws were loose in the differential case.

Very nice video man , but wl toys are gay quality cars. I have the 144001 and i have destroyed the front diff, and some other parts , also i have bend all the drive shafts more than two times in less of 40 km/h speeds. I haven't unscrew to see what's exactly the damage in the front diff, but it's so gay made rc car. The same gay quality as i see is the 124019 and the difference is that has longer chassis, all the other parts have exactly the same poor gay quality like the 144001. That's why wltoys cost so cheap. So in the case of wltoys you get exactly what you pay. Sorry i don't have something with you, but i don't like this quality. I am sure the threading of the wing mount is worn, that's why the screw fell of the mount. If you put the screw back you will see that the screw will not screw tight. I know about rc car's and i know that something will brake sometime, but this brand is cheap and that's why you do so many damages without push to hard the model. At least a hobby shop in the next city of mine started to sell this car and at least i can get parts very soon and don't wait them from China. You know i have right. Just drive a 1/10 buggy with exactly the same driving like in the video in th same are and see what damages you will do, definitely less damages.
