It's time to get back to Singapore, hopefully on a stopover to Koh Samui. When people say Singapore is expensive, I just laugh and tell them they're not doing it right.

I think Whampoa Drive hawker centre is also not bad. There are 2 hawkers there the one next to the outdoor carpark is more happening. Hokkien mee, Roasted Chicken Wing, Traditional cake shop, Fish soup and rice, quite a number of good food. You can also stroll around the area, a lot of old schools shops too. There is a shop that sells old school biscuits etc. Further near Balestier road, there is an old bakery that bakes fresh bread there.

Love the Hawker centers in Singapore, usually very clean with amazing and inexpensive delicious food. Important to know that what isn't provided at hawker centres is paper napkins for wiping your hands and mouth. Singaporeans are accustomed to bringing their own and you'll often see the elderly or disabled going table to table and selling packets of tissue paper very cheap.

I'm enjoying your videos. Do remember not to put the cutleries on the tray directly as it is not hygienic. Dry noodles are supposed to be "dry" mixed with some sauce coated with the noodles like an asian pasta! Please don't pour the soup into the noodles, you will "spoil" the taste of the noodles and also the soup LOL. The sauce will be diluted with the added soup. I've seen so many tourists from the west pouring the soup into the dry noodles and I will be like silently screaming nooo looking over my monitor😂😂😂There's a popular traditional snacks stall selling tapioca kuehs and melt-in-the mouth muah chee (chinese mochi) with peanuts. They sell out super fast and queues start from morning. Another fried dough stall selling delicious sweet potato balls. Wish you had tried them. Malays don't necessarily all came from Malaysia and we simply describe their food as Malay or Muslim food in Singapore not Malaysian food. As saying Malaysian would be referring to Malaysia the country. (although both countries were once together as one) They are referred to as another race in this multi racial country. Just like we don't refer chinese food here from China. They are just Singapore chinese food. Likewise here chinese refers to the race not the country China. Lol it's sorta complicated to explain.

I have seen people wiping down the table thoroughly with sanitizer wipes, some even on chairs first. 😂 For me I am lazy, I make sure to place it across bowls /plates, also I try not to put my arm/ hand on the table. You never know what was on the table by the last few patrons....

Penang Hawker centres taste far better. The reason is simple, fresher produce (Singapore gets most of their produce imported & frozen), bigger prep area, more generational shops. Sure, Singapore may have those but they're far & few in between. This is speaking from a perspective of someone living in Singapore.
