What would look nice is some gold dry brushing of something over the patterns. Like just a little - enough to show off the pattern on the ones that are very closely shaded.

I think a different tone is better than an exact match. The darker tone on to makes it more elegant

Love these!!! I can tell you when I used silk screens it is NOT recommended to add any adhesive to them. It will clog the screens and render them useless.

Beautiful Claire. The stencil mark on the dark purple may be caused by sweating as the coasters were not dry. I love the effect on the natural one but personally, I think the coloured ones need a darker raised pattern.

I would have liked to see white or the color. Or color on white .
@christineingram559 ай бұрын
I think the white stands out the most ,mainly because the white reflects light so it shows all the highlights and the shadowing always shows more dramatic.Using the colours ,the ones similar did not stand out so well as the colours absorb the light.Therefore in this case you have to rely on the shadow more to gain the effect..The one also my favourite stood out as the top colour was deeper.So that’s why that one was much more impressive,still not because of the differences in light.You would find you will get the same effect of the White if you did pastel colours.Its just the colours you chose were so dark..I think they look fab and it’s a great idea though…Sorry it’s the science side of me,and I understand colour as I paint.

They are beautiful! Now that they have raised areas, couldn't a silicone mold be made? Then a consistant color could be poured into the silicone mold. Just a thought
@Leena799 ай бұрын
They're all really beautiful. I just got indoors from my work space, and now I'm tempted to go back just to try this. I'd advice against adhesive spray - not because it might leave marks, but because it will block the screen and ruin the stencil. It would work with old-fashioned plastic stencils (and possibly make them work a bit like the silk screens), but silk screen is fabric and it would get clogged. Did you ever try the screens with an actual squeegee, with jesmonite? I know you had one with the acrylics. I'm thinking, using a rubber squeegee with a firm pressure might be less abrasive on the stencil. With silk screen, you need to push the paint (or jesmonite) through the screen, not just lay it on top, which is why the rub method works - but a wider squeegee at the correct angle should theoretically work too...
