I love him! The old-school computer voice is also hugely nostalgic for me, my dad is blind but has been working with computers ever since they started making voice over programs. When I was a kid, it was always that voice. Now there are many options available and the voices sound more like actual people.

@@zoemacias6663 Australian, not Californian invention, and it took a while for it to be popular outside of beachy locals like Aus, California, Flordia Mexico etc in the 70s, 80s and 90s, it wasn't until the early 2000s they became "fashion", which is still puzzling to most Australians if you ask them, given you can still buy locally made uggs, not just the brand "Uggs". We never stopped wear them just about everywhere including the beach here in Australia, my Dad was a suffer in the late sixties/seventies and he tells me they'd put them on straight out of the surf, not only did they keep them warm, the lanolin in the sheep fur was good for softening up rough soles from the salt of the ocean too. It's still a mark of pride to have roughed up ugg boots as a surfer.

Not here for sympathy, here to thank you two for what you did for me: i was having a terrible ptsd episode, on the verge of crashing out (losing control) i needed something to root myself in. Sometimes, I'll shove my hand in cold water and root myself to the sensations, but this time, it wasn't working. So i went to youtube. I was searching for some sort of noise to put on to help root my sense of hearing in the present. I found a crayola video of yours on my feed. I'd never seen you all before. I love the little emotive drawings of him popping up in the video ❤ UGG boots are more of a wintery thing yeah, I have a pair around somewhere I don't really use anymore cause it doesn't get that cold or snow at all where I live but I was staying in Minnesota in winter for a while when I was wearing them.

the drawing you all created with Drawbot was so cool!! I loved the little drawing & "conversation" from him in the editing as well! In terms of the sketchbook question, I was looking so hard for an A6 sketchbook here in America as I draw tiny, but eventually I gave up & now stick to our standard 13.9x21.6cm (iirc ~A5?) size for ease of buying lol

12:25 im with steph, i prefer smaller sketchbooks. honestly its mostly because when i get big ones i draw very small in them and if i dont like the drawing or i want to do something very different, i just turn the page and so the whole page is wasted except for the tiny little corner doodle. its like doodling on your math homework but without the numbers in the middle

That was fun! I'm American, so I'm not sure what "A" size my favorite size is, but in inches it's 9x12". This is because most of my life I've been limited in not only my art creating space, but also in my ability to digitize my art with a scanner. It was just easier to scan than to try to get a decent photo with a camera or phone.

I got hold of my year 9 school report and my art teacher said "Ellen has difficulty working on a large scale and needs to work on this" and it made me laugh because 25 years later I still really struggle with larger scale art and totally forgot that it was an issue. 80's kid here... I can attest that transforming robots were *the height* of all things cool in the 80's. This crossed over into *as many* things as possible! (Including Happy Meal toys) That said, I can just imagine some poor Crayola-product designer being told, 'We need something Transforming-Robot themed-get on that!', and this is the best he was able to come up with( that was also affordable ). In addition to being a 'Robotic Stencil', young boys could put it in 'airplane mode' and make jet engine-sounds, whilst they pretended to fly it around the house during play time. Those would likely be the two main things a kid could do would do with this wacky 'toy'.
