I gifted my daughter a dalmatian puppy on her 12th birthday a few years ago, but my father-in-law didn't allow me to keep it. My daughter was heartbroken when I gave it away. Now I have a tattoo of my puppy on my upper arm. This is India.

One of my Pitbulls does the same thing. She likes to slowly sneak up to me and when she gets about a foot from my face she’ll pull her lip up while pretending to lunge at me before pulling back at the last second and planting a huge kiss on my face. I call them her “Scary Kisses”.

Pits are banned where I am for very good reason. You had a statistical outlier so I'm glad for you.
@nashawnlivingston296511 ай бұрын
That’s not a statistical outlier, pitbulls are normally like that (at the very least get along fine with people). That implies human friendliness is unusual for these dogs when in reality, it’s the opposite: extreme aggressive dogs are an outlier and an exception to the general dogs. Just because they’re banned from where you are doesn’t mean all let alone the average pitbull will just up and attack someone.
@aurorethebore11 ай бұрын
@@goodshipkaraboudjan I’m a dog trainer and walker. Aggressive pit bulls are an outlier. The issue is people getting pits and not bothering to train/socialize such powerful dogs. Or intentionally training them to be more aggressive as guard dogs. They’re very gentle dogs by nature and take to training very quickly. Dalmatians are actually more naturally aggressive than pit bulls and require MUCH more training to be properly socialized, but you don’t see them being banned.
@goodshipkaraboudjan11 ай бұрын
@@aurorethebore No by nature they were bred for bullbaiting, not "to be gentle". Facts and stats don't lie regards of your personal anecdotes.
@aurorethebore11 ай бұрын
@@goodshipkaraboudjan No, they were bred primarily for herding, hunting, and guarding. Like many other dogs. They’re a terrier breed so they were initially bred for vermin control (rats, badgers, foxes), but with time we bred for certain traits (strong muscles and jaw, calm temperament) to make the more effective hunting companions while still being easy to control. Their strong build and powerful bite force made them great for taking down prey wounded by their masters and deterring intruders. But they had to be calm and gentle to effectively herd livestock who would not respond well to aggression. They were so gentle, in fact that they were used as “nanny dogs” to watch over young children. They were used for bull baiting just like they were used for dog fighting, but that wasn’t their purpose. That’s how they were trained. My guy, I literally went to school to study animal husbandry and behavior, specifically for domestic animals. You can have your opinion that pit bulls are innately evil and mean but the facts actually disprove that. With proper training and socialization (which every responsible dog owner should do) pit bulls make some of the best family dogs.

@PositivelyPirate They got overbred and alot of pups started getting health defects.
@sirvantanite1307 Жыл бұрын
@PositivelyPirate It is the breeder's fault. But the movie started the hysteria craze. 101 dalmatians was the cause of that. Not that they shouldn't have made the movie, they should have. But just because something caused something doesn't mean the act was bad, nor was it the sole cause.
@sirvantanite1307 Жыл бұрын
@PositivelyPirate Breeding is also not unethical. Irresponsible breeding is.
